When I discovered Thomas was recommended on Facebook and later on TripAdvisor, I knew his tour was perfect for my Birthday celebration. I prefer private tours over crowded ones. Communicating via WhatsApp was effortless, and Thomas was very quick to respond. He met us at an easy-to-find spot after we disembarked from the boat, and our adventure began. During our six-hour experience, I enjoyed exploring the Yukon and crossed into Canada for the first time. We saw beautiful lakes, a stunning beach, mountain goats, and plenty of bear poop. Thomas was incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating, always ready to stop for photos. He had a great sense of humor that made the time fly. I even faced my fear of heights by walking across a suspension bridge, which was amazing. This day was undoubtedly the highlight of my cruise and a Birthday to remember. The scenery was truly magical. If you're looking for stunning landscapes with a professional guide, book Thomas right away. You'll have a much more enjoyable experience than being on a train among other tourists looking at trees. Thank you, Thomas, for being an excellent host and creating unforgettable memories! Looking forward to the next time.
Upon arriving in Skagway, I wanted to avoid a seasonal tour guide hired by the cruise ships. After asking locals, I discovered that Tom has lived in the area since the early 1980s. As a photographer, he was perfect for my photo tour. We spent an amazing afternoon exploring the mountains and lakes near Skagway, visiting hidden spots only locals are aware of. Tom's friendly personality made the experience even better, and I learned a great deal from him. I highly recommend this tour. Here are some photos from our adventure.
What a fantastic way to experience a day in Skagway! We had an amazing time ascending the mountain, and I’m really pleased we chose this over the train. Our guide was very knowledgeable and shared entertaining insights about the area. We loved the entire trip and the stunning views at each stop. I would highly recommend this tour.
Tom is a remarkable gentleman and a knowledgeable guide. His insights about Skagway and the beautiful natural sites in the Yukon made the tour enjoyable. He connected well with our seven-year-old son, combining his humor and warmth with an engaging experience. We spotted bears with cubs, mountain goats, and enjoyed serene photo opportunities along with visits to welcoming taverns. Meeting Tom was a genuine delight, and I highly recommend him to anyone planning a trip to Skagway. Thank you, Tom.
Our experience was incredibly enjoyable. Tom Pickerel from Skagway Yukon Custom Van Tours was our guide, and his expertise really shone as he safely navigated us through the fog to the Yukon suspension bridge. He made several stops at breathtaking viewpoints and shared fascinating historical insights. We couldn't have asked for a better tour of Skagway than the one we had with Tom.
We had a fantastic experience, and Tom was an exceptional guide. He accommodated my disabled mother and made the trip fascinating with his extensive knowledge of the area. Tom was also a great conversationalist, and we really enjoyed his company. He even shared some wonderful photos he took on a sunny day. I give this tour an 11 out of 10! Our friends who chose the train were quite envious.
