Eight and a half hour cruise through Northwestern Fjord — wildlife sightings including whales, sea lions, and icebergs, with a deli lunch included.
A full-day cruise through the remote Northwestern Fjord in Kenai Fjords National Park covers 8.5 hours on the water. It's ideal for photographers and wildlife enthusiasts, with a smaller group ensuring better views. Expect to spot humpback and orca whales, Steller sea lions, harbor seals, and a variety of seabirds as you navigate the fjord.
A highlight of the trip is the Northwestern Glacier, where you can witness calving ice up close. Lunch is provided as a deli meal, allowing you to refuel while soaking in the stunning scenery. Bring appropriate clothing for changing weather conditions to fully enjoy your day on the water.

This cruise was a standout experience during our two-week trip. The smaller boat offered a more intimate setting compared to other tours. We encountered a wealth of wildlife and birds, with the crew expertly identifying them and sharing insights about the natural history. They also took our photos, provided lunch, and even gathered glacier ice for glacier margaritas. While we brought binoculars, they were available on board too. The highlight of the trip was undoubtedly the superpod of killer whales. They surrounded the boat, swimming and breaching, and the crew set up an underwater microphone for us to hear their vocalizations. It was truly one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had. This activity is essential if you're visiting Seward.
We enjoyed this tour on August 21, 2025, and it was an exceptional full-day adventure filled with wildlife, including seals, sea lions, puffins, and orcas. Captain Mark and his team—Jensen, Sarah, and Casey—were outstanding. They expertly managed some challenging moments with passengers due to rough seas, avoiding details about seasickness. At the conclusion of the tour, Captain Mark made the effort to locate orcas, and his persistence paid off. I strongly endorse this tour. Herbert and Christian (Austria)
What an incredible day! We signed up for the 7.5-hour tour but ended up out for 9 hours. The stunning views of Kenai Fjords National Park are unforgettable. Captain Justin and First Mate Jack ensured we spotted a lot of wildlife and provided plenty of chances to capture photos. We even chased after a Humpback whale that breached right in front of us. The memories we created will remain with me always.
This was an incredible full-day tour that included lunch. The scenery was stunning, and we encountered whales, puffins, sea lions, otters, and a variety of marine life. The information shared about the fjords and glaciers was excellent. We paused near a massive glacier, turning off the boat to listen to its sounds and watch as it calved into the sea. It was a truly remarkable experience, and I would absolutely go again.
The captain and crew were wonderful. They provided a lot of information and we had incredible views of whales, orcas, otters, and sea lions.
I selected the Northwestern Glacier tour, which featured a full day of stunning scenery and wildlife, along with lunch included. The boat accommodated only 60 guests, which made it feel intimate and ensured the crew could focus on us. We were on the water from 8 AM to 5 PM. The lunch was substantial, with a sandwich, chips, a drink, a granola bar, and a brownie later in the day. A coffee station was available throughout the cruise, plus a cash bar. The crew—Captain John, Olivia, and Scott—worked seamlessly to spot whales and bring us near for viewing. We also encountered waterfalls, glaciers, sea lions, otters, and a wide variety of birds. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience.
We had an excellent day thanks to the skilled crew on this vessel. The captain expertly located whales and maneuvered the boat for optimal viewing. He shared interesting commentary about the glaciers, scenery, and diverse marine life we encountered. Great job!
An incredible experience with stunning scenery. Witnessed wildlife, marine life, glaciers, and waterfalls up close. The beauty is truly breathtaking.
This was an incredible wildlife experience from start to finish. We saw bubble-feeding whales, orcas, sea lions, sea otters, seals, puffins, and calving glaciers, among others. The captain showed great knowledge, and the crew was courteous and supportive. I highly recommend it.
We enjoyed a remarkable 7.5-hour trip on the last day of the season, which surprisingly flew by due to the quality of the experience. The boat was in great shape with ample space for all passengers, and assigned seating allowed us to relish a well-organized lunch included in the package. I had a hearty roast beef sandwich, while my wife had a generously portioned turkey sandwich. The crew was outstanding, with the captain keeping us informed about our itinerary and wildlife sightings. They also provided binoculars for our use. Throughout our journey, we witnessed a lot of wildlife, and we felt lucky to encounter it, as such sightings are never guaranteed. The glacier viewing was spectacular; the boat got remarkably close, and we were fortunate to witness a glacier calving. Unlimited coffee, tea, and water were available throughout the trip at no additional cost. We had a wonderful day and highly recommend this experience.
