The two temples are nestled in the mountains, and I really enjoyed the cool climate and the beautiful scenery along the route, particularly the stunning rice farms. The temples, especially Ceto, and the overall atmosphere were fantastic. Just be mindful that this tour requires quite a bit of driving, as Solo is relatively far from Yogyakarta and traffic can be unpredictable.
The driver was fantastic, very helpful and well-informed. Visiting the palaces provided a wonderful insight into Javanese history, and the scenic drive to the temples in the hills was enjoyable as well.
