Izalco is one of the youngest volcanoes in the world (and still active). Reaching its crater is a rewarding but challenging experience! Be prepared to walk on steep slopes, lush cloud forests, uneven ground and (when Mother Nature's in the mood) stunning views. Called "The Lighthouse of the Pacific" by ancient sailors, this young fella was in a constant eruption since late 1700s, spewing lava flows and debris until it reached an elevation of near 2000 m (6400+ ft). Near the crater you can still see fumaroles and, from the top, the solidified lava fields spewed during recent eruptions. As well the steep slopes of Cerro Verde waiting for us again. After getting back to Cerro Verde’s Visitors Center you have been made two volcanoes in one day and can proudly say VENI, VIDI, VICI. NOTE: this is a challenging hike, proper gear required for safety. Hiking boots/shoes, hydration, sun/rain protection and a good physical shape is a must. Trekking poles highly recommended.
This tour combines night adventure, rest and exploration in a single experience, something unusual in the region. Not only will you drive a quad bike, but you’ll do it at sunset and night, an exciting experience that elevates the adrenaline and completely transforms the course. Unlike other tours, you will camp by a river of hot springs, where you can relax under the stars, enjoy a campfire and disconnect from the noise of the city. In addition, the experience continues at dawn with a guided walk to discover a waterfall and a secret pool, places little visited and outside traditional tourist routes. It is an experience designed for those who seek to live something authentic, different and memorable, combining action, nature and wellbeing in one trip.
The Hidden Waterfalls Tour has this name for a good reason. An experience that is truly off the beaten track, we estimate that less than 1000 foreigners have ever visited this undiscovered part of El Salvador. Your tour guide will be clearing a path with his machete as he/she stops to teach you about the medicinal and edible plants that the local people still use to this day. Then we will arrive at the first of multiple waterfall jumps and naturally carved rockslides for you to enjoy. This tour has something for everyone and should be the number 1 thing on your itinerary when visiting El Salvador.
Live an unforgettable adventure with the perfect balance between adrenaline and relaxation. Ride an ATV through spectacular landscapes and thrilling trails, always accompanied by our expert guides focused on providing you with a safe and fun experience. Book now and be amazed by this unique experience that combines adventure, nature, and well-being!

Our certified local guide adds cultural context and nature facts along the way. After the hike, enjoy a peaceful lakeside lunch at Coatepeque Lake with panoramic views — the perfect way to unwind after your adventure. Ideal for solo travelers, couples, and families.
