“I booked this tour as a beginner, and I was assured it would be fine. However, upon arrival, the staff member was rude, saying I was too heavy to kayak. Despite that, I went ahead. The bus was dirty and lacked air conditioning, and neither guide wore a mask. They insisted on checking if I fit in the kayak, which felt humiliating. The instructor left me alone on the river for half an hour without guidance, and warned me he'd "get pissed" if I didn't follow his directions. It was concerning since I had no phone, and my belongings were left unsecured at the office. When he returned, there was no safety briefing or demonstration given before we started. I struggled with his inadequate instructions, and he became upset, claiming others had warned him I'd be trouble. He yelled at me constantly, and when I responded with “ok,” he reprimanded me for that and mimicked me, which felt childish. I called him out on his behavior, and he insulted me, suggesting I had a learning disability. His mood swings left me feeling unsafe. I even attempted to paddle to shore for help but got stuck. He seemed angry and deliberately rammed my kayak into rocks and trees, causing injuries. After I was thrown from the kayak, I managed to get back in while he continued to yell at me. He instructed me to stay in the middle of the river, but we were often on the sides. When I reported the instructor's unprofessional conduct upon return, the office staff again blamed me for being overweight.
