This tour was fantastic! We were captivated by the experience. We spotted countless dolphins and enjoyed snorkeling with many little goldfish. The fruit provided was also delightful. David, our guide, and Jesus, the captain, were knowledgeable and attentive. They even let us use their fishing rods, and we caught a 3-kilo tuna! We highly recommend this tour. Thank you!
If you're in Playa Blanca or Puerto Jiminez, this tour is essential for experiencing the stunning Osa Peninsula and Gulf by boat. The private nature of the tour makes it very personal, and guides David and Rommel are fantastic captains who ensure you’re well-informed while you spot dolphins and fish. You get to interact closely with dolphins and snorkel among the fish. The four-hour experience is definitely worth the cost and was one of the most memorable moments of our trip to Costa Rica. Snorkeling gear, fruit, and water are provided. Thank you, David and Rommel, for a fun experience! This is something I will never forget.
We had an incredibly enjoyable experience on this trip and highly recommend this company. The boat ride was fast and smooth. Our guides, Pilo and Freiser, were exceptional, locating two groups of dolphins for us to see up close. The first group included four dolphins, two juveniles and two adults, swimming right next to and beneath our boat. The second sighting was remarkable, featuring about 100 dolphins, slightly smaller in size, as they were feeding and jumping. Additionally, we spotted a group of Frigate birds hunting for fish. Pilo and Freiser even recognized one of the dolphins named Jacinto. After thoroughly enjoying these incredible dolphins, we headed to Piedras Blanca, where we encountered a sea turtle at the surface, beautiful Pelicans, and an Osprey. They took us to a lovely little waterfall, which felt magical. To top it all off, we snorkeled for about an hour, where I saw a harmless white-tipped shark, a puffer fish, several sizable Angel fish, and vibrant coral that scientists are working to restore, along with many other stunning small fish, including a tiny electric blue one. Our guides demonstrated their expertise in locating and observing these creatures, showing how much they love this place. The company took excellent care of us, and we are very thankful for the experience.
While this tour includes three activities, they felt somewhat unprofessional and lacked proper emphasis and care. I felt it important to clarify that this is not a whale watching tour, as they knew we wouldn’t see any due to the season. It would have been better to communicate this upfront given the expectations. For the fishing segment, one rod was used by the guide for all tourists, which was disappointing. Additionally, the guide complained about fish stains on his swimsuit, and the company should supply appropriate attire based on the activity. Although we saw a few dolphins, I expected better coordination with other boats to spot more. Lastly, the snorkeling reef had limited marine life, which was underwhelming. This tour might be enjoyable for those who have never seen fish, dolphins, or caught anything.
It was just the two of us on the boat, making for an intimate experience. The weather was ideal and the snorkeling was fantastic; we even spotted dolphins swimming beside us. Our captain and guide were very knowledgeable and provided cold water and snacks. I highly recommend this tour.
We rated this experience four stars, but it was largely disappointing. We waited nearly 45 minutes at the dock, and then had to pick up some Americans who weren't on the liner, which wasted further time. The entire trip seemed to cater to their preferences, leaving us with little opportunity to enjoy the full range of activities we had chosen, like whale watching, fishing, snorkeling, and mangroves. The snorkeling was done with the American group, and the staff on board were not very friendly towards us. That said, I appreciate that the team was cooperative and issued a partial refund. Overall, our other excursions were quite enjoyable, making this one feel even more frustrating. While I don’t doubt the quality of the trip under normal circumstances, our experience that day was genuinely disappointing.
An amazing experience on March 4, starting at 8 AM from Playa Blanca. The captain and guide were knowledgeable and polite, with excellent English skills and great insight into the wildlife and fish in the gulf. We witnessed a pod of dolphins, black tuna hunting, flying fish, and various seabirds. There were good refreshments and a lovely snorkeling session. We also successfully fished for mackerel. The beautiful skies, scenery, rocky islands, and pristine environment made for a wonderful day of four hours under the sun.
We were able to participate as two registered individuals, and the experience was tailored to our needs, including fishing and dolphin watching. The guide spoke excellent English and was very pleasant, as was the captain. Refreshing fruit and water were provided in between activities, and we were thoroughly satisfied with the whole experience.
The experience was wonderful. We spotted dolphins, and the snorkeling was excellent. On our way back, we even managed to catch some fish.
We spotted two dolphin species, a sea turtle, and many birds throughout the tour, along with gaining valuable insights into the wildlife and nature. While snorkeling, we saw a parrotfish and a pufferfish. The crew was friendly and well-informed. We strongly recommend this tour; it was well worth both the time and cost, even in the absence of whale sightings.
