The cenotes were fantastic, and our grandchildren, aged 6 and 9, declared it the best day they’ve had in Progreso. We were picked up at our Airbnb, just outside downtown Progreso, which was convenient since we had the van to ourselves. The reason I rated it 4 stars is that the van ride was hot and uncomfortable due to poor air conditioning. Although we assumed the van would be air-conditioned, it wasn't mentioned. It was 95 degrees on the day of our trip. Our guide, Antonio, did an excellent job leading us through the cenote tour and made sure we got to lunch and our other destinations. We would definitely do this excursion again. The communication with the tour company was also good. I would recommend scheduling the tour for a day when there are no cruise ships in town to enjoy a less crowded experience in the cenotes.
