I took a tour of the mine with Johnny as my guide. It was fascinating to see the harsh reality of how hard the miners labor for little compensation.
The tours offered a fascinating glimpse, even though we couldn't observe the miners at work firsthand. As a Bolivian, I was taken aback by the miners' precarious living conditions, suggesting a lack of attention from the national administration. The guide shared insights about the miners' life expectancy, which added to the experience. I recommend this tour for its unique perspective, especially the one that includes descending through the tunnels.
The tour provided a pleasant overview of the historic area, but not all the scheduled site entrances were included. Instead, we were guided through the entrance yards of a few locations, and I had to pay for entry to the tower myself, which I believed was part of the package. Sonia, the guide, was friendly and offered thorough explanations throughout the tour.
We arrived at the meeting location at 8:50 am for a 9 am departure, but the guide didn’t arrive until 9:40 am. It felt like this individual was not the usual guide and only spoke English. I recommend avoiding this tour.
