Adam was both entertaining and well-informed. He provided excellent suggestions for local restaurants. The location is truly stunning, and we had a wonderful experience.
Oscar possessed extensive knowledge and provided a wealth of local insights during the day. It was definitely worth it, though I would have appreciated more time at each stop.
We explored key attractions in the national park with a knowledgeable driver who provided detailed explanations about the sites, flora, and fauna. Our guide, Oscar, was very accommodating, making for an enjoyable day despite the considerable driving time required to cover such a large park.
This trip was both enjoyable and educational. Our guide, Daniel, possessed extensive knowledge of the region, sharing insightful facts and history during our drive. We hiked twice in the Hoh Rain Forest, discovering different trees and plant species. It was a stunning location to connect with nature. At Rialto Beach, we had the chance to explore on our own. Being part of a small group enhanced the experience with the other participants. I strongly recommend this tour.
Eric, our guide, was outstanding. He shared fascinating details and insights about the Hoh Rainforest and its distinct ecosystem, demonstrating great enthusiasm in his communication and education about the surrounding nature. He helped us grasp the broader significance of our observations in the Rainforest. His storytelling about Lake Crescent, local wildlife, and his hiking adventures was delightful. We also visited Rialto Beach, which was another memorable part of our trip. The Rainforest was breathtaking and truly an unforgettable experience. I strongly recommend this tour.
The experience was fantastic. Oscar served as an ideal guide, knowledgeable about the area and eager to share insights in a relaxed, enjoyable manner. During family trips, I often wish for an expert in the backseat who can answer our questions, and that’s exactly what this felt like—plus, he drove us as well! I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to fully explore the Hoh Rainforest.
Ben did an excellent job keeping us on schedule while allowing ample time at each location. The Hoh Rain Forest was a standout part of my Washington trip. The organization of the company was impressive. However, the van felt a bit cramped. Ben pointed out various small animals, insects, and trees, and he identified several birds for us. The image shows a fir tree root that had toppled but is still producing new trees. It's incredible.
The Hoh Rainforest and Rialto Beach experience was outstanding. I appreciate Ben for his extensive knowledge and laid-back personality, which really enhanced the day. I highly recommend this tour.
My experience with Olympic Hiking Co on the guided tour of the Hoh Rain Forest and Rialto Beach was incredible. The company was well-organized, friendly, and accommodating, which was especially important for me as a solo traveler with a packed itinerary. I arrived early at their office in Port Angeles, and despite having my luggage, the staff graciously offered to store it for me until I completed the tour. The check-in process was efficient, and the staff were professional and welcoming. We made quick stops at Forks Outfitters for refreshments on our way to and from the rainforest, and the drive offered spectacular views, particularly of Lake Crescent. Our guide was exceptional—knowledgeable and enthusiastic about nature. He taught us how to identify various trees like spruce, fir, and hemlock, and had us taste wood sorrel, which had a refreshing lime-pepper taste. He also provided memorable mnemonics and fascinating insights regarding the forest ecosystem, from devil’s club to fairy barf lichens. We encountered ferns, step moss, and even spotted a black licorice slug. We enjoyed a second hike on the Spruce Nature Trail, which led us to the picturesque Hoh River. I greatly appreciated both hikes—the Hall of Mosses and the Spruce Nature Trail. After exploring the rainforest, we headed to Rialto Beach, stopping again in Forks. The beach was beautiful, featuring dramatic cliffs, ocean mist, and had a distinct Twilight ambiance. Although the weather was cloudy and cool, the views were stunning. We even spotted a humorous sign that said, “No Vampires Beyond This Point,” on our way to the beach. Overall, Olympic Hiking Co far surpassed my expectations. Their tours are ideal for solo travelers and small groups. I thoroughly enjoyed this remarkable experience and am delighted to have participated in this tour.
The guides were friendly and well-informed. The office was conveniently located with ample parking. The tour facilitated enjoyable travel to various sites. The van was clean and roomy. Olympic National Park is vast and can be intimidating, but having a knowledgeable guide made it worthwhile. I suggest packing your lunch if you have dietary restrictions, and bringing snacks and water for the journey is a good idea.
