We had an amazing snorkeling experience with Edlin in 2019, so we returned with family in April 2021 to Laughing Bird with him again. We also enjoyed several days of fishing with Randolph, catching tuna, Spanish mackerel, and king mackerel. Our hotel prepared the fish, and we had a fantastic meal. It was an excellent experience, and we plan to return.
We arranged two charters during our week in Placencia, one for fishing and another for exploring islands. Edlin, the owner and captain, was fantastic. Having lived in the area his whole life, he possesses extensive knowledge of the waters and islands. Beyond being an skilled captain, he was genuinely enjoyable to be around. On our fishing excursion, he dove to catch conch, crab, and squid, which he cooked along with our fish on Moho Caye, a stunning island off Placencia's coast. We also snorkeled and swam to shore for our island lunch. During our island-hopping day, Edlin spear-fished a hog fish and filleted it so we could take it to a restaurant that evening for the chef to prepare. Don’t miss the opportunity to spend a day or two on the water with Edlin; it was a highlight of our Belize trip.
Our day with Lincoln was wonderful. Although the waters were a bit choppy on the way out, the trip proved to be rewarding. The kids caught fish that he filleted for us to enjoy later at our resort. The lunch was superb, featuring homemade slaw, rice and beans, and chicken. The snorkeling was fantastic but better suited for more experienced swimmers. Overall, it was a fantastic experience.
Our guide, Lincoln, was fantastic as he shared his knowledge of the area and his fishing skills. We managed to catch some great fish, which he grilled for us on a beautiful tropical caye for lunch. Later, we had a fun guided snorkeling experience where Lincoln helped us learn to identify conch among the coral. It was a perfect day filled with enjoyable activities on the water.
My wife and I had an unforgettable day with Lincoln. We began with snorkeling and spear fishing, where Lincoln showcased his exceptional skills by catching lobster, crab, conch, and other fish. We then headed to Moho Caye to prepare and enjoy our lunch. On the return trip, we did some trolling and caught a few more fish, including a sizeable tarpon as our final catch of the day. We truly appreciated our experience with Lincoln and wholeheartedly recommend it to others. Thank you, Lincoln, Edlin, and Desorine.
Our day was fantastic, thanks to Lincoln. He picked us up at our hotel beach and impressed us with his friendly demeanor and excellent driving skills. We found an array of drinks waiting for us, which was a nice touch. My husband and Lincoln swam in the crystal-clear water, and they caught 7 conchs, 3 lobsters, and 1 fish—enough for both of us. At Moho Island, Lincoln cooked a wonderful meal, packed with lime, butter, and cilantro that still makes my mouth water. Other tourists and guides were envious of our catch, but Lincoln made sure our lunch was protected. He also included peas and rice, coleslaw, and delicious rum punch. We enjoyed the beach and the stunning views before reluctantly returning to reality. This memorable 8-hour experience is one we hope to repeat. Thank you, Lincoln, for being amazing!
The guide was unfriendly, and the experience did not match the description. The island looked completely different, we didn't cook our catch, and there was no bar. I included pictures that showed what was missing. Although they worked hard during the fishing, I tipped $100 and he didn't acknowledge it.
My wife and I had the pleasure of fishing with Edlin, where we managed to catch bonefish and tarpon using spin tackle. Although we had some opportunities to catch permit, we weren’t able to achieve our grand slam. A few days later, we returned with friends for a day of island hopping to Moho and King Lewey, along with some snorkeling and spearfishing. Edlin was friendly and very knowledgeable, making our experience enjoyable. We’ll surely return!
The experience offered was highly personalized, making for a wonderful time snorkeling near the coral reef and enjoying a fresh seafood lunch on the beach. The guides were extremely experienced and knowledgeable, allowing us to avoid the crowds of larger tours, which created a comfortable atmosphere for us to enjoy together. However, I can’t rate it a perfect 5 because our primary goal was to see sea turtles, which unfortunately didn’t occur.
Our group had to modify our excursion last minute, but Desorine made the process extremely simple. Her assistance truly reflected the values of the company. We strongly recommend her and the company for anyone interested in a fishing experience from Placencia. We're eager to come back and plan another trip with them. Thank you all for everything! 5/5!
