The scenery during the trip was pleasant, but the equipment felt outdated. Although the staff was welcoming, two hours felt a bit excessive for this experience.

My wife enjoyed kayaking, and we both appreciated the tour. We saw many interesting sights, including an alligator. It was a nice two-hour experience for our first time in the Outer Banks.
We enjoyed a serene kayaking experience as a family on a lovely day. During our two-hour self-guided tour, we paddled approximately 4 miles at our own speeds. We saw numerous turtles and found two bridges for great photo opportunities.
We arrived a bit early to ensure we wouldn't be late, but the owner never appeared. After calling the business, we still received no assistance on how to proceed. This experience left us feeling very uneasy and extremely disappointed. I cannot recommend this service and would like a refund.
We arrived for our 11:30am reservation at 11:20am only to find the business closed with no staff in sight. After searching the area and calling the number, we received a voicemail and a text asking if they could call back later. Customer service tried to contact the business without success. Eventually, we spoke with a staff member who mentioned he would be back shortly and told us to help ourselves to the life vests, paddles, and kayaks located out back. The vests were moldy and dirty, just left on a chair, and the kayaks were in similar condition. We completed our two-hour kayak trip and returned to find no staff present again. It was far from what we anticipated, but we tried to make the most of our self-service experience.
The kayaks were excellent, and the staff provided great assistance during both the arrival and departure. The waterway is stunning. I have only positive things to say.
Kitty Hawk Kayak was unyielding, using their “cancellation” policy to deny my request to change to a different tour when I thought I had booked a tour instead of a rental. It felt like they took my money unfairly.
