Hoh Rain Forest

Olympic National Park, USA

Hoh Rain Forest — places to visit in Olympic National Park
Hoh Rain Forest in Olympic National Park — view 2
Hoh Rain Forest is a temperate rain forest characterized by its impressive canopy of old-growth trees, lush underbrush, and abundant mosses, lying within Olympic National Park on the western coast of Washington. This area receives over 3,000 millimetres of rainfall annually, contributing to its dense, vibrant ecosystem and making it one of the wettest places in the continental United States. Spend a few hours exploring the network of trails that wind through the forest, where you'll find fascinating plant life, including towering Sitka spruces and western hemlocks. Spring and early summer offer the best conditions, with wildflowers blooming and fewer crowds. Bring layers, as the weather can change quickly, and be prepared for a quiet immersion in nature.

Five days of hiking across Olympic National Park — explore old-growth forests, alpine lakes, and enjoy views of Mt. Olympus and Blue Glacier.

My friend and I participated in the 5 day/4 night Hoh Rainforest to Blue Glacier trek in late July, and it was an amazing experience. Having not done serious backpacking in seven years, I felt a bit out of practice and likely wouldn't have attempted this adventure solo. I'm really thankful for Lasting Adventures for enabling people to explore these beautiful trails. The scenery was breathtaking throughout the journey. I greatly appreciate our guide Hannah for her expertise and encouragement. The communication before the trip was excellent; I felt well-prepared and informed. The equipment I rented from them was reliable, and the meals were outstanding.classic_leo_behavior on the Five-day hiking trip in Olympic National Park tour

A full day exploring Olympic National Park — Kalaloch beaches, Hoh rainforest, and a guided hike through old growth forests with a naturalist.

Khajidah was our guide for an exhilarating day filled with activities and a delicious lunch. We arrived at the Hoh Rain Forest ahead of any crowds, allowing us to dictate our own itinerary. We explored both the Hall of Mosses and Spruce Trails, followed by a hike along the Hoh River Trail. After that, Khajidah set up a lovely picnic in the parking lot, complete with a tablecloth, where we enjoyed sandwiches, chips, veggies, and fruit, which was a delightful treat. Next, we headed to Ruby Beach for a stroll along the shore during low tide, and finally visited Big Cedar before concluding our trip. At the end, Khajidah apologized for exceeding the scheduled time, noting that her clock had run out, and mentioned her long drive back to Tacoma. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone!recorder on the Full-day small group hiking tour of Olympic National Park tour
