We had an amazing time; it was truly a fantastic experience. I wholeheartedly recommend that my friends visit it as well. We snapped countless photos.
Juan Carlos, our pilot, provided valuable insights that greatly enhanced our flight experience. He recommended adding the ground tour, which was an excellent choice. The flight lasted about 30 minutes, while the ground tour took roughly three hours. We arrived at 6 am without a clear plan and were immediately approached by street vendors outside the airport, promoting their services. Later, we learned that they fabricated stories about non-existent seating arrangements on the plane. There is a family-run restaurant nearby where we could eat, relax, and access Wi-Fi while waiting for our tour to begin at 7 am. At 10 am, we met Juan Carlos at the airport, flew around 11 am, and returned by noon, giving us plenty of time for lunch before catching the 2 pm bus to Huacachina. I highly recommend this experience.
Arturo served as a fantastic guide, providing insightful and friendly commentary. His clear and slow Spanish was beneficial for my practice, and he also spoke some English. He picked me up from my hostel and took us to various tower locations to view the lines. Additionally, he offered an optional visit to a museum dedicated to the German woman who devoted her life to studying the lines for a fee of 8 soles. Although the museum was small and basic, it featured some intriguing exhibits and preserved the room where she lived along with its artifacts.
The tour was fantastic. Juan Carlos led it himself and was not only very friendly but also fluent in English. He provided us with a wealth of information about the Nazca lines and was flexible with our needs. Thank you!
The Nazca lines are truly impressive, and the Maria Reiche house museum is definitely worth seeing. If you're planning a trip to Peru, I highly suggest visiting this region — you won't regret it. I also recommend booking your tour through Get2peru.com. We had a mix-up with our tour date, but Mily from the operator quickly arranged a personal guide for us; Carlos was friendly and very knowledgeable. I'm grateful to Mily for her extra effort and to Carlos for the wonderful tour.
The Palpa Lines are visible from the road, but you can enhance your experience by climbing to a viewpoint for a better perspective. Although they aren't as well-known, they are fascinating and fairly close to the Nasca Lines. In Nasca, a larger mirante allows you to view three drawings. It's striking to realize that nothing is visible from road level, but as you ascend the viewpoint, the images emerge in the desert landscape.
This experience of viewing the Nazca Lines and the Palpa geography was highly enjoyable. We explored the cat geography in Nazca and other sites in Palpa, all spectacular from the ground. Additionally, we climbed the Nazca viewing tower for more impressive views of the lines and geography. Our guide, Juan, was very knowledgeable. I would recommend this tour.
Even though we weren't able to fly, it turned out to be a delightful experience rich in culture and a sense of pride for our heritage. The warmth of the people made us feel truly happy.
Mr. Juan Carlos provided us with crucial information and recommendations that guided our choices for the circuits to the Nazca and Palpa Lines, as well as for the guide who was incredibly helpful. We are very pleased with our memorable visit to the Lines and will surely consider other services from Get2Peru in the future.
It was an incredible experience. We would definitely do this excursion again without any doubt.
