Larry was an excellent guide—friendly, well-informed, and professional. I highly recommend opting for a Navajo-led tour rather than self-driving, as you'd miss out on so much.
This tour was fantastic, featuring some of the most stunning scenery we have ever encountered. Even more impressive was our guide, who shared a wealth of knowledge about the area's history and culture, making for a truly memorable experience.
Our guide Travis, who is Navajo, was exceptional. He took us to all the famous sites along with several that are usually off-limits, and shared fascinating insights into the region's history and culture, referring to it as "my backyard," which I appreciated. He also included stories about his clan and family. At the end, Travis and another Navajo guide performed a lovely guitar, flute, and drum blessing dance that felt truly magical. It was an amazing experience—don’t hesitate to book this tour!
Larry was an outstanding tour guide, brimming with knowledge about both the land formations and the history of the Navajo people. He shared countless details and names about every monument and arch. He even sang a song for us! It was a truly unique experience that one couldn't replicate alone. Thank you, Larry!
The backcountry tour was outstanding; both our guide and his father, who was also leading a tour concurrently, were exceptional.
The backcountry jeep tour was outstanding. We joined the morning tour, led by our fantastic guide, Travis. He played flutes and performed a Navajo blessing dance, sharing his deep knowledge of the land's history and his heritage, which enriched our experience. My husband, a guitarist, even got the chance to play music with Travis. We also made a few stops, including one where a lovely woman, possibly named Loretta, shared insights about crafting wool products and her traditions, which truly brought Monument Valley to life.
My cousin and I had an amazing experience exploring Monument Valley and the nearby Mystery Valley. Our guide, Larry, was both friendly and very knowledgeable, sharing stories about his culture and personal experiences. This region is truly breathtaking, arguably one of the most beautiful in the world, and I feel fortunate to have seen it with Tribal Tours. The red rock formations, ancient ruins, petroglyphs, and the enduring Navajo people were all captivating, and I look forward to returning. Initially, we considered touring Monument Valley on our own, but after researching, we found that having a guide is essential. It allows access to areas off-limits to visitors and supports the local economy. I recommend everyone to take a guided tour. Visiting in winter was ideal for us, as there were few crowds, allowing us to enjoy many sites entirely on our own. The peaceful solitude will remain in my memory indefinitely. Thank you to Tribal Tours and a special thanks to Larry for his wonderful flute playing.
I had an amazing time on this tour. Our guide Larry provided a wealth of information, adding a personal touch to our experience in Monument Valley. I highly recommend this tour and suggest requesting Larry, who helps capture the best photos and ensures an exceptional experience.
Our tour, which began at 8:30 am, was a fantastic experience. Nate, our guide, shared wonderful insights about the sites, the Navajo Nation, and his own life. He was polite and eager to address our questions. We visited locations we couldn't have accessed otherwise, making this tour well worth the cost.
The backcountry tour of Monument Valley with Tribal Tours was incredible. Our guide, Travis (Dark Sky), provided insightful cultural context and played the Navajo flute and drum, which added to the serene atmosphere of the experience. The drum's echoes against the canyon walls were remarkable. This tour is truly the best way to experience Monument Valley.
