Two hours inside a historic 1894 building — an interactive ghost tour using divining rods to explore its complex history.
Join the Shakers Ghost Tour 2.0 for a two-hour exploration of a preserved 1894 building in Milwaukee, known for its layered past filled with scandal and unanswered questions. This is not just a storytelling session; participants engage directly with the space through the use of traditional divining rods, adding a hands-on approach to the experience.
The tour blends atmosphere and tension, moving beyond typical guided interactions. It’s designed for those with a genuine curiosity about the paranormal, as well as a readiness to confront uncomfortable histories. Due to its nature, this tour may not be suitable for everyone. Expect an encounter that challenges your perceptions and encourages participation.

I really enjoyed learning about the history of this historic bar and getting a glimpse behind the scenes. The entire experience was indoors, and we even got to use the spirit rods. CJ made for an excellent tour guide.
I really enjoyed this tour. Amanda provided a lot of information and engaged well with the spirits. I would definitely recommend it and would participate again!
Kiersten did an excellent job, even handling a difficult individual in the group. I would advise anyone to participate in this experience.
The tour was wonderfully detailed and unlike anything I've experienced before. I was completely engaged, feeling a mix of fear and excitement, laughing and almost crying as I empathized with the stories of the Shakers.
The tour guide was humorous and made the experience enjoyable, with his engaging commentary being the highlight for us. However, the overall tour felt quite contrived and gimmicky. The dousing rods appeared clearly fake, especially when novices attempted to use them. My boyfriend and I found it amusing and appreciated the tour's playful elements. I would have preferred a more subdued atmosphere in the basement and B + A floors to see if there were any changes. It involved a lot of chatter with minimal factual historical context. It felt somewhat silly and superficial. It seemed like the owner, Bob Weiss, prioritized profit over creating an enriching experience, and at times, the scripted nature of the tour felt disrespectful to those who have passed. I think experiencing it once is sufficient, but it might be appealing for those interested in ghosts or entertaining tales. The views from the upper levels were stunning.
Joe was an excellent tour guide who brought a lot of fun and excitement to the experience. After the tour, my boyfriend and I had additional questions, and he kindly stayed to provide answers. It was a fantastic experience. Thank you, Joe. I strongly recommend this tour to all.
The tour guide was fantastic, and I regret not remembering her name, but she had bluish hair. She was incredibly knowledgeable about everything.
I was really looking forward to this tour, but my enthusiasm faded quickly. The guide spoke too rapidly and seemed detached, as if reading from a script. When I requested her to speak more slowly and clearly, she replied, "sorry, that’s how I talk." I've taken many tours and never had to make such a request before, as guides are usually engaging. During the 10-minute break before the second hour, we opted to stay at the bar instead of continuing, and when asked if we were joining again, we politely declined. I later discovered that everyone else received little ghost flashlights, despite knowing we were still there and paid $47 each. I can't help but wonder if a better experience with the guide would have changed things for us.
I am appalled that I even need to give this a single star. This is a total scam; they will charge you double for the same tour, so avoid booking at all costs. The information provided is misleading, and the staff is terrible. If I can prevent just one person from booking this, I will feel accomplished. This is the worst business I have ever encountered.
Exploring the Shaker Cigar Bar was an excellent experience. We visited the basement and the second and third floors, experimented with divining rods, and captured fantastic photos. Our tour guide, Jennifer, was exceptional.
