For those who enjoy escape rooms and city scavenger hunts, this experience perfectly combines both! It was a delightful way to explore Milwaukee while solving puzzles using real-world clues. With no time constraints, we took breaks for food and drinks during our adventure. Just be sure to plan ahead, as a box will be mailed to you beforehand.
This was our third Escape the City adventure, and the Relic storyline set along the Milwaukee Riverwalk was amazing. The story's opening sequence held our attention. It's a great way to discover more about a city's landmarks and history. We even attracted the curiosity of a family with young children who asked what we were up to as we worked on solving clues, and they were thrilled to hear about a game in their area.
My family really enjoyed this outdoor escape room in Milwaukee. With our two sons, aged 14 and 12, who love escape rooms, the clues struck the right balance of being challenging yet achievable. We reached the final clue before needing a hint, which was satisfying. The area felt safe and was enjoyable to explore. I appreciated the self-paced nature, allowing us to set our own speed. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a fun group activity with friends or family.
I have participated in three Escapely tours so far, and they have all been wonderful. They are slightly easier than a DASH hunt and are perfect for anyone who lives in or frequently visits Milwaukee and is looking for new activities. The puzzles are cleverly designed, well thought out, and accompanied by engaging storylines. The hints provided are effective and keep the game flowing smoothly. The Milwaukee tour was especially enjoyable since we could take breaks for drinks, which was a significant advantage for our group. We completed the tour at a comfortable pace in about three hours, using all available hints. For reference, a faster group of two experienced puzzlers finished a similar game in Charlotte in approximately 90 minutes with only minimal hints.
Our group of six adults had a fantastic time during this three-hour experience, including a food break. The challenges were just right, often leaving us feeling stumped before hitting those satisfying "ah ha!" moments. We appreciated the route through downtown Milwaukee. This activity wouldn't suit those without patience for riddles or puzzles, but we found the story engaging and enjoyed getting into character voices. I hope other cities offer different tales so we can experience it again elsewhere.
Booking in advance is crucial for the Milwaukee location, as they rely on mailing items for the excursion. I had to cancel on the day of my trip due to their failure to restock pick-up boxes. I was disappointed to find this out only after I called with another inquiry, and while they claimed to have sent an email, I never received it.
I had a fantastic time with this activity. The puzzles were challenging but not overly difficult, and the hints were helpful. The amount of walking was perfect. The surroundings were lovely and enjoyable to explore. The storyline was engaging and entertaining. I just wish there were more games available in the area.
