  In just 3.5 hours around Hamilton, Bermuda, we experienced countless sights thanks to our guide Dean, who has deep local roots and expertise. He shared fascinating details about the island's medicinal plants and showed us three historic English forts. Dean explained Bermuda’s unique geological history as an extinct volcano surrounded by a coral reef, which is known for many shipwrecks. For an authentic tour with a local touch, Dean's private tours are unmatched.

  Bermuda the Billowy

  Bermuda, though small at just 24 miles long and 2 miles wide, experiences its share of Atlantic weather, including strong winds and rain. During my visit, gale force winds were a constant. However, the fortifications around the Royal Naval Dockyard and its unique shops offered some refuge from the elements. A highlight was visiting the historic St. George, the island's original capital, accessible by a scenic 50-minute ferry ride from the dockyard. The charming streets felt reminiscent of old England, lined with quaint shops and named after notable figures. The ferry operates several times daily in calmer weather conditions.
