Reviews
Margherita and Giovani, our truffle hunter, greeted us warmly and punctually despite the November 22nd snow. We were fortunate to discover four Alba truffles with the wonderful dog Turbo. The experience was genuine and sincere. We highly recommend it to everyone.
This was a short hike through the forest with our guide and the truffle hunter. We had a great experience overall and would definitely recommend it.
Margherita was an excellent guide during our tour. I strongly recommend it. She was very knowledgeable and had great energy, providing clear directions to the hunting spot. We successfully found various white and black truffles. Watching the hunter and his dog was enjoyable, and although he only spoke Italian, Margherita skillfully translated his insights on truffle hunting. We also learned that she offers wine tasting tours, which we plan to book on our next visit.
The experience was engaging, allowing us to appreciate the beautiful surroundings and learn about truffle hunting. Our inquiries were answered well by the friendly guide and truffle hunter. However, as a group of eight friends, we felt the activity's price was too high for what was provided. We expected much more for the over 600 euros spent, especially since the walk lasted just an hour and a half with minimal distance covered. While there was truffling, the dog did not perform as expected; it required prompting from the hunter to indicate truffle locations. This caused some participants to doubt the authenticity of the activity. Although we enjoyed the guide's and hunter's stories, many felt there was not enough shared information for the whole group. Those seeking a more extensive experience with detailed insights and an active dog-and-hunter duo may be disappointed. If you prefer a smaller-scale event with local guides who genuinely strive to create a pleasant experience and share occasional interesting facts about local culture and are willing to spend a significant amount, this may still be worth considering.
Giovane, a third-generation truffle hunter, and his dog Gigi form a fantastic team. It was an excellent experience learning how this valuable food is threatened by declining rainfall. The truffles rely on moisture, with winter snow providing essential dampness.
This was a standout experience during our travels. It was wonderful to watch Giovanni and his dog Turbo collaborating. We discovered at least five truffles (two black and three white). It was both enjoyable and informative. Highly recommended.
This experience was truly memorable—our guide was excellent, providing insightful explanations along a lovely route (which I won't spoil!). We were fortunate to discover a 130-gram white Alba truffle with an amazing aroma. I highly recommend this for anyone who appreciates the beauty of Piedmont's nature.
Our truffle hunting experience in the woods was delightful and packed with information. The guide and the truffle hunting team made it both enjoyable and educational. They provided boots for the muddy terrain, but it's essential to bring warm socks and clothing since this forest remains shaded. The cold and wet season is ideal for white truffles. If you’re a foodie, this is an opportunity you can't overlook.
The guide was outstanding, and the truffle hunter along with his dog were impressive as well. I highly recommend this tour. The guide was very flexible and accommodating.
Margarita was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. She led us into the forest where we met the truffle hunter and his adorable dog, Gigi. We discovered four truffles during our outing. I highly recommend this experience.
