Reviews
The tour was enjoyable, though it was less centered on wine and pisco than I anticipated, focusing more on the region's history and culture, which I found fascinating. The tour mainly operates in Spanish, but the guide is proficient in English and can address questions in English if needed. It's a full-day event, and the lunch offered is outstanding, featuring three excellent courses along with a pisco drink, which was truly great.
This was a wonderful excursion, featuring several stops at lovely sites, accompanied by a friendly guide and a delightful meal. I highly recommend it for its excellent value for the price.
The tour was definitely worth it. Our guide, Vale, provided a wealth of fascinating information about the area in both Spanish and English.
The Elqui Valley Tour was truly enjoyable, perfect for those wanting to explore new scenery while gaining insights into the area's history. It’s advisable to wear light clothing, as the heat can be quite strong.
This experience was truly unique, allowing us to visit numerous iconic locations across the country. Each stop provided an opportunity to explore the surroundings and learn about their history and origins. It was also wonderful to connect with people from diverse backgrounds, and the guides did an excellent job delivering information in two languages, making the tour both engaging and fulfilling.
This tour was truly remarkable, taking us to stunning locations such as Puclaro Reservoir, Monte Grande, Elqui, and Vicuña. The tastings at Capel and Cava del Valle were delightful, especially at the latter, where we were warmly welcomed by Quenita. Our guide, Javier, was friendly and very knowledgeable about the history and culture of the area. I highly recommend this experience.
I want to share my experience to caution other travelers, especially families, about our disappointing time with guide Juan Pablo. What was supposed to be a relaxing and enjoyable day turned into one of stress and frustration due to his overbearing and arbitrary behavior. During the trip, Juan Pablo was distant and authoritative, enforcing rules based on his preferences instead of prioritizing the group's welfare. The tipping point came at the end of the tour when he refused to drop us off at the prearranged pick-up location, claiming our service wasn’t “private.” His poor judgment resulted in us having to walk several blocks to our hotel, despite our group including two elderly individuals and a 3-year-old child, along with a very heavy travel chair. The most troubling part was witnessing the inconsistent treatment of other passengers in the same group, who were conveniently taken to their condo doors without issue. It is unacceptable for a guide to leverage a family's well-being to push for private tours. A quality tourist service should demonstrate problem-solving and hospitality, qualities that Juan Pablo clearly lacks.
The guide was excellent, the itinerary was adhered to, and the lunch was delicious.
Our day in the Elqui Valley was filled with valuable experiences. The guide was very informative and ensured that everyone, even those of us who don't speak Spanish, understood everything. The wine and Pisco tastings were enjoyable, and we appreciated the additional insights into the area's history and geology.
The organization and service were outstanding. Our guide, Mauricio Inda, was exceptional—friendly, patient, and attentive, with extensive knowledge that he shared clearly and engagingly. His enthusiasm and eagerness to answer questions greatly enhanced the experience. It was all wonderful.
