Adam was an excellent tour guide. He provided a wealth of information and conducted himself professionally. His kindness and engaging personality made the day quite memorable, and he went the extra mile to ensure our comfort.
Our day began with a timely pickup from our hotel. We enjoyed a light breakfast at a functioning farm, which included freshly baked blueberry muffins, scones, and fruits, along with coffee and juice. The shuttle was spacious and clean for the 10-hour journey. Malia, our driver and tour guide from Hana, was fantastic. She timed bathroom breaks perfectly and drove safely while narrating the tour throughout. We gained insights into the rainforest's plants, waterfalls, animals, and local culture. Lunch was a lovely picnic with chicken, rice, and salad, and she kept us refreshed with cold water and juices during the trip. We were fortunate to be with a friendly group, making the experience even better. Malia's local knowledge added a unique touch, and we saw everything promised, plus an unexpected delight of sea turtles on the beach. Although the tour cost $300 per person, we found it justifiable given the day's value. We wouldn't suggest renting a car for this drive, as it's quite perilous without knowing the narrow, one-way roads and cliffside edges.
Malia was an excellent guide who shared fascinating historical insights and identified various plant species. She ensured the group stayed engaged and made time for photo opportunities. Although the tour lasted 12 hours, it was definitely worth it.
Everything from the pickup to breakfast and lunch was exceptional. Our guide Aukai was not only knowledgeable and funny but also added a personal touch throughout the trip. His passion for the island was clear as he provided insights during our journey along the road to Hāna. Maui’s beauty, which we had heard so much about, was truly showcased during this tour.
This tour was fantastic, but it's definitely a long day. The continental breakfast was a nice touch and much appreciated after our early pickup. We enjoyed all the stops and the insights and fun facts shared by Apa. Lunch on the beach was delightful.
I cannot recommend this tour. It might suit those unfamiliar with the Road to Hāna, but for someone who has experienced it, this was a complete waste of time and money. The stops are limited, and you have no control over their length. The so-called huli huli chicken isn't from the well-known stand; it's picked up from a disappointing breakfast spot. The worst part is thinking you'd eat at the iconic huli huli chicken place, only to be taken nearly 45 minutes off route to some woman's home. "Auntie" turns out to be an elderly woman selling overpriced jewelry, and you're stuck consuming subpar chicken and wandering her garden. That detour took nearly two hours and felt completely pointless. I could elaborate further, but simply put, I rate this a 0/10 and strongly advise against it. Don’t believe the other reviews; they don’t know how incredible the Road to Hāna can be when done properly.
Travis was a fantastic guide who displayed great knowledge and kindness, making the tour thrilling. I highly recommend this tour with Travis for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable family experience.
Malia, our tour guide, was fantastic! Being a local from Hana added so much to the experience. Her knowledge of the scenery, waterfalls, and wildlife was impressive. The timing for bathroom and snack stops was perfect, and the lunch was tasty!
One of the standout moments of our journey, this experience offered stunning scenery and numerous vista stops. Our guide, Kawika, truly made it exceptional with his extensive knowledge of Hana, Maui, and Hawaii's history. His enthusiasm for the land, its people, the language, and the culture was evident. Overall, it was an outstanding experience.
Travis was an excellent guide, making the tour enjoyable, engaging, and secure. We appreciated having him as our driver for the lengthy trip, and we had plenty of fun stops throughout the journey.
