An absolutely incredible day. I highly suggest this tour that begins by taking you into the less-traveled areas of upcountry Maui. The return trip follows the main Hana road, with stops at all the key attractions. Our guide Everett was both knowledgeable and friendly, ensuring a safe drive on a challenging route. The pickup was punctual, and the van was exceptionally comfortable. We enjoyed a delightful lunch at a lovely flower farm. I definitely recommend this experience over the usual tour that travels the same road in both directions.
This was a fantastic tour. Doug was an outstanding guide—knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and funny. I would definitely recommend this experience.
I had high hopes for this tour, but I ultimately felt it wasn't worth the expense. 1. The van was cramped for 11 adults. We either had to squeeze four into the back or have one person barely able to see. 2. We had booked a full-circle tour but only went down and back. There was a lot of hype about Hona, but we merely drove through it. We chose this company based on our initial conversation about the tour. 3. While we did see some sights, we expected four stops, including lunch, but most were just quick drive-bys with limited opportunities for photos, often from inside the van. 4. The lunch of fried fish was disappointing and soggy—possibly the worst meal we've encountered on any excursion. 5. During your call, if we changed plans, it seemed like you'd be our driver. On a positive note, the van was clean, and Brandon was a great driver, making the ride enjoyable. Though we appreciated the stops, they were few in number. Melissa was enthusiastic but often spoke too much, making the journey feel longer.
The experience lacked the luxury I expected. We were cramped in the back of a van with uncomfortable wheel wells. Breakfast was minimal, just a slice of bread and some pineapple, but lunch was decent. While the driver was knowledgeable, it would have been preferable to rent a car and explore independently. The constant chatter from other passengers diminished the enjoyment, focusing too much on the owner's wealth. It left me feeling like my contribution did little more than enrich him.
Due to construction, we could only make a round trip on the main Hana Road instead of continuing around to the west. Doug, our guide, was excellent. Having grown up on the road, he shared many personal stories and his immersion in Hawaiian history and culture from attending Kamehameha School in Honolulu enriched our experience. The stops were enjoyable, and lunch was delicious. Overall, we had a wonderful day.
This tour is an absolute must on Maui and comes highly recommended. It showcased the most stunning sights along the highway, and our guide, Brandon, was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing valuable insights about Hawaiian history and culture throughout the journey.
We had a fantastic experience with Doug, the owner and operator. His extensive knowledge of the island and history was impressive. He drove confidently on the road to Hana. The highlight for us was visiting the black sand beach and getting a close view of the sea turtles. Doug also prepared a delicious Hawaiian lunch, and we enjoyed being part of a small group. It was a long but enjoyable day.
Our first day in Maui was wonderfully spent on this tour. Each stop offered captivating sights and unique activities. Brandon was a fantastic guide—knowledgeable, experienced, and full of aloha. The food was enjoyable. It was great to connect with others in our group and see how shared adventures unite people from around the world. Expect a long day and varying weather—being flexible is key. We faced some surprises that Brandon handled skillfully. I highly recommend this experience.
This tour was truly exceptional. Brandon and Doug provided amazing insights both personally and historically, making the experience enjoyable with their fun and humorous approach. It was an exhilarating trip overall.
During our visit to Maui, we relied on our hotel’s concierge to arrange tours, and we were thrilled with this company. Our timely pickup from the hotel was smooth, and the comfortable vehicle accommodated a small group. Brandon and Jenelle were exceptional guides, providing extensive historical insights that were sometimes a bit much but still very informative. We explored many sites that we would have struggled to manage on our own, enjoying the leisurely pace at each stop. A light breakfast featuring delicious banana bread was offered, and for lunch, we had fresh fish with brown rice and sweet potato macaroni salad, which was delightful. Although the winding roads made me feel a bit car sick, the ginger melts and effective motion sickness wristbands helped soothe my symptoms. I highly recommend booking this experience; it was truly wonderful.
