A full day trip, including a glass-bottomed boat ride over Kekova's underwater ruins, visits to Myra's tombs, and St. Nicholas Church in Demre.
This day-long tour from Kemer combines both relaxation and exploration along Turkey's stunning Turquoise Coast. Start by boarding a glass-bottomed boat to view the underwater ruins of Kekova, an ancient Lycian city known for its fascinating history. After the cruising experience, you will proceed to the site of Myra, famous for its impressive rock-cut tombs that reflect ancient burial traditions.
The itinerary includes a visit to St. Nicholas Church in Demre, where you can observe the tombs of St. Nicholas, the historical figure often associated with Santa Claus. The pace of the tour allows for plenty of enjoyment without feeling rushed, making it a suitable choice for those looking to explore Turkey's cultural heritage and natural beauty.
Reviews
The trip was decent; the boat ride was enjoyable with a small group, allowing us to unexpectedly see turtles in the harbor. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. However, there was little to observe of the sunken city due to the very dirty glass on the boat. Myra was an impressive site, but the 45 minutes we spent there felt insufficient for proper exploration. Additionally, we encountered an unadvertised stop at a tourist trap focused on zultanite, which wasted valuable time during an already packed day. My main frustration was that entry to the church of St. Nicolas wasn't included in the tour price. We were charged an extra €20 each to enter, and although it was mentioned that entry wasn’t covered, the high cost and the fact that the church is fenced off for viewing made the situation feel misleading. Those opting not to enter had to wait outside for an hour with little to do except browse an expensive gift shop. I believe it would have been more beneficial to spend longer at Myra, allowing those interested in the church to depart early while the others enjoyed more time there. Overall, while the experience was acceptable, I wouldn't recommend it to others.
The trip was excellent, thanks to the knowledgeable guide. However, a more detailed description of the timings and what to bring would be helpful. I was unaware that swimming was an option. Depending on your pickup location, it could turn into a long day.
Turkey is stunning with plenty to see and do. Our boat had a breakdown, but another one arrived quickly to continue our journey.
The trip was beautiful and fascinating; we enjoyed it thoroughly. Our guide provided excellent service, and we highly recommend booking with Abdel if you're considering this experience. Thank you!
We enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing and engaging day tour, led by a guide who possessed extensive knowledge not just of the sites, but also of the surrounding region. The boat ride to the Sunken City was peaceful, with ample space for our small group. It was the perfect spot for a tranquil swim, and we even spotted some sea turtles along the way. Myra was remarkable, featuring a well-preserved theatre and rock tombs just a short walk away, offering easy access to stunning views. While we opted not to enter the church, the area was pleasant for exploring. Lunch choices were excellent, with delicious food and a very welcoming restaurant owner. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience, and Gafar, our coordinator, provided friendly and helpful communication prior to the trip.
We recently joined the Sunken City Kekova, Demre, and Myra Day Tour from Kemer and it was a truly fantastic experience from beginning to end. The guide was outstanding—very knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely enthusiastic about the history and attractions we explored. The entire tour was well-organized and ran smoothly, without any delays or problems. We especially enjoyed the boat ride that showcased the underwater ruins, the ancient rock-cut tombs, and the fascinating Church of St. Nicholas. The scenic boat and coastal views were also stunning. Lunch was fresh and delicious, far surpassing the typical "tourist buffet" we've encountered on other trips.
The trip was well organized and full of informative insights. We enjoyed a delightful lunch and had opportunities to purchase souvenirs and take some time to explore the area.
The trip today was truly fantastic from beginning to end. The van was punctual, comfortable, and air-conditioned, with a friendly group. Our guide Kamal was pleasant, helpful, and very knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience. The locations we explored were stunning and thoughtfully selected. All in all, it was an incredible trip that I strongly recommend.
