The weather was fantastic and we spotted numerous humpback whales. A highlight was witnessing a rare bubble net feeding involving at least six whales. Nate and Claire were excellent and very knowledgeable. We took our trip on May 16th. Aside from a bus ride over 30 minutes, the driver shared many interesting stories about the Juneau area.
This experience was absolutely worth both the time and cost. We spotted at least six humpback whales feeding together using bubble net hunting. Nate and Claire were fantastic guides, and they provided a device that helped us anticipate when the whales would come up for air. It was such fun! James also did an excellent job as our captain.
This was an incredible experience! Seeing the whales was breathtaking, and the crew—Ash, Griffin, and Krichelle—was fantastic. They maintained a lively atmosphere and genuinely cared about our enjoyment. Everyone showed great skill, knowledge, and kindness. I highly recommend this tour! I got to see the whale, Kelp, several times, and we are now best friends.
I had a fantastic day whale watching in Juneau with Alaska Tales. The crew successfully located a pod of whales feeding on fish. I highly recommend choosing this group for an excellent experience on the water with whales and Nate, rather than sticking to cruise-sponsored tours.
Whale Tales provided us with a truly unforgettable experience. The independently owned business was outstanding. The entire crew, including the bus driver, enhanced our trip significantly. Their passion for their work was evident, and the whale watching was fantastic.
Michelle, Claire, and Sophie were excellent hosts. They ensured that we saw whales during the boat trip, and we managed to spot at least three of them.
Delton, Taylor, and Nate were excellent guides. We spotted whales and sea lions during the trip.
The crew was fantastic and well-informed, even with the challenging weather conditions.
The staff was extremely professional, and the boat was cozy and enclosed while still allowing for outdoor access to enjoy the views. Unfortunately, due to the cold and rainy weather, we only spotted a few whales. The crew did their utmost to find and approach them, but they can't influence the weather or nature.
We encountered numerous whales on this tour. Nate was very informative and responded to many of our inquiries. Watching a mother and her calf made the experience even more special. I highly recommend this tour.
