Reviews
The "discover" Jasper tour mainly focused on the fire, leaving me uncertain about what was covered prior. I found it difficult to hear the guide due to a poor microphone. Nonetheless, we did spot some elk and beavers.
We did see some elks, but that was about it, making the experience less satisfying. I expected to see more animals, especially with the emphasis on up-to-date sightings, but that wasn't our reality.
The tour mainly involved driving along the main roads to Maligne Lake and Medicine Lake. We stopped at two different parking lots, which was disappointing; I had hoped we would venture off the main routes to spot some wildlife.
I really enjoyed exploring the natural wildlife near Jasper. Our guide had extensive knowledge about the local animals and could cover a variety of topics. We were lucky enough to see some elk and watch their behavior. It was a laid-back and pleasant experience.
Our tour guide, known as the "bear whispering lady," was fantastic. Her deep knowledge and enthusiasm for the land and wildlife made her stories captivating. We were fortunate to see 8 male elks along with several female elks and their young. The males were even challenging each other. Additionally, we spotted 2 coyotes, numerous bighorn sheep, and a moose. She took her time to share and show us everything, and we were truly pleased with the experience.
We were picked up from our hotel by an amazing guide. The evening was filled with wildlife sightings, including elk, goats, bighorn sheep, and an osprey nest with chicks. The experience concluded with a stunning sunset on our way back to our lodging. I highly recommend this tour.
Our guide Evonne was incredibly funny and informative. We had the opportunity to see Big Horn Sheep, Moose, Wolves, Elk cows, and even a Bull Elk.
It was a wonderful experience with an enthusiastic and dedicated driver. We had the chance to see 17 elk up close, along with a sheep and more elk, during the late afternoon.
The trip was wonderful, with lots of wildlife to observe around Jasper, including coyotes, deer, elk, and even a grizzly bear. Our driver, Ivan, was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, prioritizing safety and ensuring we had opportunities to see and photograph the animals. However, I didn't rate it 5 stars for a couple of reasons. Ivan's comments about historical topics, like lobbing grenades at Germans during World War II or the Canadian army's actions at the time, felt inappropriate given the international group consisting of British, Germans, Australians, and French. Additionally, Ivan had noticeable body odor, which was uncomfortable.
It was a fantastic journey through the region, and we even encountered some wildlife along the way.
