What's the itinerary?+
• The itinerary begins with a visit to Golconda, situated 11 km from Hyderabad City. This fort is recognized as one of India's most significant hill fortresses. Originally constructed in AD 1143 as a mud fort, it was enhanced between the 14th and 17th centuries and was the main palace for the Bahmani Sultans and the Qutb Shahi dynasty. A guide will provide insights into the history of the fort and its impact on Hyderabad and its inhabitants. • Next, we explore the Qutub Shahi Tombs, dedicated to the former kings of Golconda. The architectural features, such as the arches, columns, dome minarets, and galleries, are beautifully designed and set amidst gardens known as Ibrahim Bagh. According to legend, these tombs were held in high esteem during the Qutub Shahi Kings' reign, with even criminals finding refuge and forgiveness here. • Afterward, we proceed to Choumahalla, the former palace of the Nizams, who were among the wealthiest individuals in history. Key attractions in this palace include a water fountain, vintage automobiles, elaborate carvings, glass chandeliers, and the grand durbar hall. At the height of the Nizams’ rule, the palace was staffed by as many as 7000 attendants. The guide will share details about the personal and political lives of the Nizams of Hyderabad. • The final stop of the city tour is Charminar, a landmark emblematic of Hyderabad. Constructed in 1591 by Mohammed Quli Qutb Shahi, the fifth sultan of the Qutub Shahi dynasty, it was built to commemorate the city’s recovery from a severe plague. The guide will engage you with tales including the existence of a secret passage beneath Charminar that linked it to Golconda Fort, created for the royal family's escape during emergencies.
