What's the itinerary?+
• The journey begins at Golconda, situated 11 KM from Hyderabad City. The Golconda fort is considered one of India's most impressive hill fortresses. Originally constructed in AD 1143 as a mud fort, it underwent fortification from the 14th to 17th centuries and was the main palace of the Bahmani Sultans and the Qutb Shahi dynasty. The guide will share insights into the fort's history and its influence on Hyderabad and its residents. • The Qutub Shahi Tombs were built to honor the former kings of Golconda. The architectural features such as arches, columns, domes, minarets, and galleries are striking, and the tombs are surrounded by gardens known as Ibrahim Bagh. According to local legends, these tombs were respected during the reign of the Qutub Shahi Kings, leading to a tradition of criminals seeking asylum here being granted clemency. • Next, we will visit Choumahalla, the royal residence of the Nizams, who were once among the wealthiest individuals globally. Significant areas within the palace include a water fountain, vintage automobiles, detailed carvings, glass chandeliers, and the impressive durbar hall. At the height of their power, up to 7000 staff were employed in this palace. The guide will provide details on the personal and political life of the Nizams of Hyderabad. On Fridays, Birla Mandir will be visited instead of Choumahalla Palace due to its closure. • Our final stop is Charminar, a landmark synonymous with Hyderabad. Built in 1591 by Mohammed Quli Qutb Shahi, the fifth sultan of the Qutb Shahi dynasty, it was erected to mark the end of a severe plague in the city. The guide will share fascinating tales, including a rumored secret tunnel beneath Charminar that linked to Golconda Fort, designed for the royal family's escape during emergencies.
