The staff were friendly and had great knowledge. One member of our group found the choppy waves challenging for their first kayaking experience, but overall it was an excellent outing. I would certainly do it again and highly recommend it.
A definite highlight of our visit to Door County, the guides were enjoyable and had great knowledge about the region.
We decided to change from kayaking to e-bikes at the last moment, and the staff member who assisted us was exceptional. It was our first experience on e-bikes, and we found it to be incredibly enjoyable.
The day for kayaking was just right. The staff was welcoming, the trip was well-organized, and it provided a good balance of exercise and scenic enjoyment. Additionally, there's a nearby beach for post-activity relaxation.
Overall, we enjoyed the tour, but it was difficult to hear the guides. A smaller group size might have improved our ability to catch the information from our guide. What I did manage to hear was intriguing.
This adventure was truly remarkable, marking a great experience before college. My boyfriend and I sought a kayaking trip beyond our cabin and came across this tour. Our guide, Gordan, was fantastic, engaging with everyone in our group to keep the conversation flowing as we paddled. He also took the time to point out interesting spots along the way, which added to the enjoyment. Expect to get a bit wet, even if you don't capsize, as the ocean kayaks will soak your bottom. The lake's waves can splash into the kayak too. Don't forget sunscreen and a water bottle. The journey to Cave Point is quite relaxing, but the return trip to the landing can be quite the workout.
I likely would have given a five-star rating if our guide, who was genuinely kind and sincere, had managed the couple struggling to paddle, which delayed our trip by 30 minutes.
Our guide Margaret was wonderful and tried her best to engage a quiet group. However, two inexperienced kayakers in our group of 12 made our two-hour tour extend to three hours as she focused on coaching them. We did receive some historical insights about Cave Point when we gathered together, with the option to paddle back with her for more information. Overall, I felt it was more like an expensive kayak rental with brief historical commentary. The experience would have improved significantly if all kayakers had been more skilled, or if there had been two guides or an experienced-only tour option.
I had a fantastic first experience kayaking. Margaret, our guide, was excellent and provided an insightful history of the rocks at Cave Point. I highly recommend this, especially during August and September when the weather is pleasant.
Making the reservation, checking in, and participating in the paddling tour was all straightforward and truly enjoyable. Our guide, Gordon, has a deep knowledge of the area and shows a genuine passion for his role. He has a charismatic way of ensuring everyone feels at ease, whether it's getting into the kayak, navigating the water, or returning to shore.
