    2. Fishing trips at Rodman Reservoir near Gainesville

    5.0· 3 reviews

Half-day fishing trips on Rodman Reservoir — renowned for trophy bass, with opportunities for birdwatching and photography.

I chose to fish at Rodman Reservoir during the drawdown, and Captain Chris was incredibly accommodating, making the 6-hour trip enjoyable. His boat and gear are tailored for this kind of lake. The fishing conditions were perfect: mostly cloudy skies, a west wind, and warming temps with water at 66 degrees. While the bass were uncooperative, I managed to catch five, the biggest weighing around 4 pounds, as well as four mud fish and one small gar. I plan to return for another adventure next year.MIEKE D
