Captain Axel and his crew were truly exceptional. After a thorough safety briefing, they quickly set lines as we left the reef. Using rigged ballyhoo and large lures, we caught barracuda right away. They handled the fish we wanted to keep humanely and released the rest. I also managed to catch a massive kingfish, a personal first. The equipment was top-notch, the beers were cold, and everyone was in good spirits. As a professional fisherman, I wholeheartedly recommend La Diosa Del Mar. When we returned, our fresh catch was cooked for us at a restaurant nearby for a small fee, while we enjoyed the view of the Caribbean Sea. Thank you, Captain Axel.
This was the best fishing experience I've ever had. The guides, Cesar and Daniel, were fantastic. They know the waters well and have a great boat. We managed to catch five Barracuda in under two hours. They even offered to have the fish prepared at a local restaurant for us, but unfortunately, we ran out of time. I highly recommend them; just go for it. They are also flexible with scheduling if you reach out.
We had a phenomenal experience. The team was extremely accommodating when we arrived later than expected. We still enjoyed the full four hours of fishing and had a wonderful time. They even cleaned and cooked the fish we caught, which was delicious. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we would definitely do it again. Transportation to and from the location was also very easy.
The crew and staff were fantastic. Many of us would happily experience it again. It's important to mention that the vessel is not the large type commonly used for deep-sea fishing in the US. This is a smaller fishing boat, which might pose challenges for those who are anxious about the ocean or tend to get seasick.
We had a fantastic experience. After arriving by cruise ship, we were promptly met and took a cab to the meeting point, where we used the restroom before boarding the panga. There were five of us, and we all caught fish. The captain and deckhand were exceptional, asking us what we wanted to catch, and within half an hour, we were reeling in barracuda—eight in total, including two at once. Once back on the beach, we enjoyed fresh ceviche and grilled fish tacos made from our catch. I highly recommend this experience.
We joined this excursion as a family during our Christmas trip, and it was an amazing experience. The atmosphere was filled with great music and positive energy, thanks to Andre and Ismael, who were friendly, fun, and incredibly supportive. We had a successful fishing outing, bringing in 13 fish total, including barracuda and jack fish. They even offered to prepare our catch on a beautiful beach, adding a unique touch to our adventure. Everyone we met, from taxi drivers to staff at local restaurants and shops, was kind and helpful. The town was easy to explore with their assistance. These guys truly made the experience unforgettable, and the memories we created will stick with us forever. We’ll definitely consider booking this again, as it far surpassed simply relaxing on a beach or participating in standard cruise ship activities.
We got a message the night before detailing how to reach the location and informing us that a taxi would be needed. Getting to the beach was hassle-free. Although it was cloudy and the waves were strong, they offered us a choice: fish in the rain or receive a full refund. We decided to embrace the adventure. It was enjoyable; they pulled the boat around with four lines in the water, and I was called to reel in the catch whenever we had a fish. We managed to catch two big barracuda. Afterward, we could stay on the beach while they filleted and cooked the fish for us, but since it was pouring, we opted to return to the ship to dry off. It was a wonderful experience singing in the rain and creating memories!
The crew was exceptionally friendly and made every effort to ensure we enjoyed our experience. Although the water was somewhat rough and the fish were not biting initially, the captain worked hard to help us land a catch. Eventually, we hooked a barracuda, and on our return, we managed to catch a large sailfish. As we lacked fishing experience, the crew patiently guided us through the process of reeling it in.
To reach the fishing spot, walk to the front of the port and take a yellow taxi, costing $5 per person. You can enjoy coffee across the street while waiting for your crew. Be prepared to wade through the water to board the boat. While we only caught one barracuda, Ishmel and Javier worked diligently to help us get more fish. We spent four hours trolling as they efficiently managed the lines, checking and recasting them. If the fish aren't biting, at least you can enjoy a Modelo.
This excursion was fantastic. The guides were outstanding! I went with my family, including kids aged 14, 10, and 8, all new to sports fishing. The guides were extremely patient, provided clear instructions, and helped us catch two large barracuda. I highly recommend this group.
