Full day tour to Calakmul and Balamkú by vehicle — explore significant Mayan ruins in a lush jungle setting, led by experienced guides.

The tour had a drive time of 4-5 hours, which was the only drawback, but everything else was fantastic. It was a highly informative experience, featuring original stucco in Balamku. I highly recommend it. Wil showcased extensive knowledge of Mayan history and was excellent at spotting various birds and animals that I might have missed. We concluded our day with dinner at a restaurant, but he also offered sandwiches and snacks throughout the tour.Angelina_F

Full-day tour to Calakmul with community guides — explore Mayan heritage and nature while supporting local economies.

I booked the Sustainable Calakmul excursion with Vamo a Rola and it turned out to be an incredible experience. My driver Victor picked me up at 4 AM, and we were soon joined by our English-speaking guide, René, at the Calakmul Biosphere Reserve. Both did an excellent job; Victor was a skilled and efficient driver, while René provided extensive insights about the archaeological site. We also spotted various animals in the reserve, making for a remarkable trip. I returned to Campeche by 5 PM. One area for improvement would be better communication from the tour operator prior to the excursion. It would be helpful if they could send an email confirmation 24 hours in advance. I had to reach out myself to ensure everything was set, but ultimately Vamo a Rola delivered a great experience.MauriceT62
