This was a fantastic experience in Puerto Plata. My 7-year-old had a great time feeding the monkeys and watching them jump around her. The adults also enjoyed it just as much, and we captured plenty of memorable photos.

My sister and I, both in our mid-50s, did the Monkeyland excursion during our cruise. Interacting with the little monkeys was a lot of fun. We had numerous chances to take pictures and videos with them in their habitat. There was an option to buy photos from the company for $35, which was reasonable as we received 29 images from the album. Runners Adventures, our tour operator, provided a nice overview of local culture before our visit. The drive from the cruise port took about 25 minutes one way due to traffic. Monkeyland is an excellent choice for families, and I noticed many adults enjoying themselves as well.
Visiting the squirrel monkey sanctuary was an incredible experience, along with enjoying the local flavors and art. Carlos, Tito, and Injury were fantastic guides. I highly suggest the entire tour, and the coffee and chocolate tastings were wonderful. Carlos truly represents his country well.
Spending time with my family was a great experience. Although the monkey interaction lasted just 30 minutes, it was enjoyable. I was pleasantly surprised by the coffee tour afterward, which was a delightful bonus! Our guides were fantastic, humorous, and engaging, especially Miguel, who would make a great auctioneer or racetrack announcer. Thank you, Miguel!
