We had an excellent experience with this travel company during our waterfall visit. Their professionalism and responsibility stood out from start to finish. They even arranged a private minivan for just the two of us, making our journey quite comfortable. We want to thank the attentive female manager and our punctual and reliable driver. A point to consider is the timing of our visit; four cruise ships were in port that day, resulting in crowded waterfalls and slow-moving lines. Despite that, we were able to enjoy four waterfalls, which remained fun. The lunch buffet was satisfactory and satisfying after our hike. The company provided a "camera guy" for our group, who we later realized was there to sell photos. Thankfully, there was no pressure to buy them afterwards, which we appreciated. Overall, it was a very well-organized tour.
Javier was excellent. We left our cruise ship promptly and found them waiting for us outside the port with a large sign. On that day, our family of four was the only group in the van, which had limited capacity. As we traveled, they shared local insights and played Dominican music. We arrived early at the waterfalls, and my teenagers, along with my husband and me, thoroughly enjoyed the excursion. A moderate level of fitness is required for the long hike to the top, but they provided ample breaks to help us along the way. After visiting the waterfalls, we had a buffet lunch at a nearby restaurant and made a quick stop at a gift shop. On our return to the cruise port, they even purchased fresh mangoes for us from a roadside vendor. The entire experience lasted about four hours. It's worth noting that a photographer accompanied us throughout and will encourage you to buy the pictures they take. Be ready to negotiate or decline if you're not interested. Overall, we had an incredible day and felt it was a fantastic value compared to the cruise line's offerings.
We had an excellent experience. Our driver and photographer were fantastic. Although the pictures were pricey, they were very personable, and we returned to the port with plenty of time to spare.
We had an incredible experience with our driver Javier and Sol, who arrived punctually at the designated spot. We strongly recommend their transportation services as they went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. Our guide Stanley was also excellent. The waterfalls were stunning, and we truly enjoyed it!
This was an excellent excursion with enjoyable waterfalls. It involved a significant hike that might be challenging for beginners, but our guide was extremely supportive in assisting us with navigating the water and taking rest breaks on the way to the falls. I felt exhausted afterward but in a positive way. Everyone had a fantastic time.
This company is not one I would ever book with again, despite my love for the Damajagua Waterfalls. We decided to reserve a 9am tour to avoid the crowd, but late the night before, they changed it to 10am. I quickly replied that we chose the earlier time to beat the cruise tours, and Sol insisted it would be fine. After rushing to the meeting point, we were left waiting for almost an hour for two other passengers. Alex, the photographer, was great and we tipped him even though we hadn’t asked for one. Unfortunately, Sol contributed very little to the experience and hurried us during our photo stops. We requested to be dropped off at the port or the pink street after the tour, but they refused, leaving us with a rushed experience. To make matters worse, they forced us to visit a shopping place we weren't interested in. It felt like a ploy for a driver kickback rather than enhancing our experience. We just wanted some free time after the tour to explore Puerto Plata. This was not my first tour; I had a great experience with Iguana Mama years ago, and my last tour six months ago was decent despite the long wait. I would not recommend this company and felt disappointed by how they handled everything.
The visitor team was fantastic, and everything went according to plan. The hike to the falls lasted around 30 minutes and involved many stairs, providing a great workout. It's important to avoid wearing jewelry or bringing phones and watches since many lost them in the falls due to the strong, fast-moving water.
Tito and the entire team were fantastic. I highly recommend this tour! Just keep in mind that there's only five more minutes of hiking.
This was a fantastic experience from beginning to end. My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed it. We arrived in Puerto Plata during our cruise, and Javier and his team were punctual, with Sol meeting us even before the scheduled time. On the way to the car, we also met the photographer Germán, and Javier drove us to the waterfalls, which was quite the adventure on Dominican roads. At the national park's entrance, Germán continued with us along with two park guides, Flacko Mambo and Alexis, who provided excellent support. The hike to the waterfalls was a bit lengthy, but we love hiking, so it was manageable; they kept joking that it was just "five more Dominican minutes." The waterfalls were stunning and offered a thrilling experience, so it's best to wear sturdy water shoes for the rocky terrain. Following our waterfall excursion, they took us to a delicious buffet lunch. Germán later checked in with us about purchasing photos and videos he took for $60 for both of us; payment options were flexible. We opted to pay via PayPal, and he even assisted us in connecting to wifi since we didn’t have data. It is definitely advisable to get the photos since we left our phones behind, as it’s safer not to take valuables with you, which can be stored in the car. Some people in other groups lost their phones in the water, so we were relieved to leave ours. Luckily, Alexis helped retrieve a phone that was lost in the water, but that was an exception. Flacko did have a waterproof bag for essentials before we reached the waterfalls, which was helpful. After lunch, we returned to the port by 1 PM, allowing us plenty of time before our ship's departure. Overall, this active and enjoyable experience, coupled with the delicious lunch, cost us less than booking through the cruise. Javier and Sol were fantastic, and we especially enjoyed conversations with Germán on our way back. Additionally, Alexis gave us the chance to taste cacao fruit, which was a great bonus. Thanks to everyone for such a memorable experience.
Our experience was fantastic. The transportation was right outside the gate and easily identifiable. We were accompanied by a wonderful photographer named Frandy, who was friendly and really enhanced the excursion. We would definitely choose them again.
