1Four hours on the Colorado River — paddleboard the calm and moderate riffles, swim breaks included, with additional options for kids and beginners to kayak or raft.
“We enjoyed a fantastic half-day afternoon SUP adventure through class 2/3 rapids with AVA earlier this week. It was a thrilling experience that we've been eagerly recommending to friends. Although we've previously gone whitewater rafting (class 3/4) and have experience on still water and the ocean, we found this activity exciting and accessible for everyone, even if you're new to SUP. We chose the afternoon session (1PM, advised to arrive by 12:45PM), and since Kremmling was about an hour from our accommodation, we arrived a bit early. After parking, we followed the signs to wait by our vehicle for a masked staff member to check us in while adhering to social distancing. Check-in was efficient, and after confirming our clothing was suitable, we headed inside for restroom use and gear collection. Everyone is required to wear a wetsuit (the water is quite cold), a helmet, and a PFD, with changing facilities available. We boarded the bus wearing masks, with spaced seating and open windows for ventilation during the 30-minute ride to the launch site. The trip guides quickly organized us onto our SUPs, kayaks, and rafts. I bumped into a rock shortly after starting, but the ride was otherwise smooth. Paddling was easy, and the guides communicated well regarding the rapids and navigation, with a cliff diving stop halfway through. Overall, we had a lot of fun on the SUPs, mostly standing but also kneeling for the rapids, and we both fell in once. Once we finished near Radium (about 2.5 hours on the water), we were the first to exit, and the guides efficiently packed everything up for the short bus ride back (masks back on). Everyone seemed to be in great spirits. Special thanks to Grayson, our trip lead, and the rest of the team. For those planning to go this summer, here are my recommendations: - Make sure to sign the waivers AVA sends you via email ahead of time—this speeds up check-in for everyone. - Bring a reusable cloth mask or gaiter for comfort during the bus ride. - You won’t be attached to the SUP, but there are ropes for securing items like a waterproof bag or water bottle; ensure you have an attachment solution since SUPs lack storage. - If you’re unsure how long your sunscreen will last, consider applying it and wearing a rashguard or sunshirt over your wetsuit for better sun protection. - Many raft participants wore sneakers, but we found water shoes or Tevas suitable. Just remember, shoes must have straps, so choose ones that won't take long to dry. - Lastly, if you wear glasses or sunglasses, it's wise to bring chums (or purchase them on-site for $8).”— adayjchen
2A full-day, 11 to 14-mile float trip — paddle mellow class II rapids with a deli-style riverside lunch included.
“We had a wonderful time floating with AVA Colorado Rafting today, with nine of us in total. Our guide, Therese, was exceptional and enhanced our experience. It’s an engaging trip, yet not overly demanding. Highly recommend!”— D3997XSjohns
3Three hours on the Colorado River — leisurely float with small rapids, sunbathing, and swimming opportunities, departing from Kremmling.
“Our experience was special since we were the only two participants. The weather was ideal, and our guide was friendly and well-informed. We observed a lot of wildlife and had a wonderful day.”— Deborah_P
4Half-day rafting adventure on the Upper Colorado River—enjoy wildlife sightings, class 2 rapids, and optional cliff jumps, including a stop at Radium Hot Springs.
“I had an incredible experience with Liquid Descent Rafting. I’ve participated in both the class 3-4 rapids in Idaho Springs and the more relaxed Upper Colorado tour. Both experiences were fantastic. The team is dedicated and genuinely passionate about the outdoors, prioritizing safety while ensuring everyone enjoys themselves. As a homeowner in Breckenridge, I will definitely continue to use their services as my guests ask for rafting adventures.”— 762alv
5Two-hour walking tour that reveals the unusual history of Breckenridge, designed for adults and older children.
“Gail is an excellent storyteller, and we had a fantastic time on our tour.”— 75mariank
6Two to three hours exploring Breckenridge's sights and history through a fun scavenger hunt format, suitable for families or groups.
“I couldn't reach the company to start our scavenger hunt. The website didn't function, and the support number just led to a recorded message asking for messages or emails. No one ever called back, and my email bounced back as undeliverable. It felt like a complete scam.”— ET-PR
