I strongly recommend this incredible whale watching tour in Bleik. The skipper and our exceptionally knowledgeable guide worked hard to ensure we had an unforgettable experience. We departed late in the evening, around 9:30 pm, and returned about 1 pm, with our cameras filled with stunning pictures. Under bright sunshine on the water, we saw a minke whale, a pod of orcas, and even visited a nearby island to view puffins. Thank you, The Gold of Norway, for this memorable experience!
Encountering two sperm whales while aboard a rib boat was an incredible experience. The guide skillfully used sonar to locate the whales. Everything felt safe, and they provided all necessary clothing. This is an opportunity you shouldn't miss, though it was unfortunate that the twelve of us couldn't hear the whales' sounds. A headset would have been beneficial.
Terrible experience with this company. We traveled from the UK to Norway, and the boat trips were supposed to be a highlight. We enjoyed a fantastic Puffin Safari with Whalesafari AS, who were very accommodating. However, when we arrived for the whale safari with Green Gold of Norway, they denied us boarding because my 20-year-old son, who has autism and wears ear defenders, was not allowed. Even after I explained he would remove them if necessary and showed photos of him enjoying the RIB the day before, they still refused us service and a refund. Their treatment was appalling, and they should be embarrassed. I regret not booking both trips with the excellent other company instead.
We signed up for the evening tour that included tea and muffins. The process at the meeting point felt a bit disorganized, and it would have been helpful to have a full briefing about the trip beforehand. The guide seemed disengaged from start to finish, often whispering rather than speaking clearly. From our seats at the back, we couldn't hear the whale facts she shared. On the positive side, the driver worked hard to provide information. We did spot one orca, which was an exciting moment, but we felt the boat got too close and chased the orca. Since the whales were far from shore, we spent a long time traveling and missed out on seeing sperm whales in Bleik Canyon. Our stop at the puffin island lasted only two minutes, likely due to weather concerns. Contrary to what the tour promised, we didn’t receive any tea, and only a few attendees got muffins at the very end. The departure felt awkward, with no acknowledgment like a simple "thank you for joining us."
I had the opportunity to observe an entire family of orcas while they were hunting. The guide was excellent, and the boat ride was fantastic. The muffins and tea provided at the end were delightful.
