We specifically purchased seats to avoid sharing with other passengers. While our outbound flight and meals were fine, the return to SFO was problematic. When boarding, I found another passenger in our assigned seat, 57A. I informed a flight attendant, but she seemed unsure of how to address the issue. I had to insist on our reserved seats, leading to a ground agent, Ellen Shen, taking a photo of our reservation but unable to explain the seating overlap. She suggested I contact Eva Air on their website. The meal service on the return flight was disappointing; we had requested vegetarian but received chicken and fish instead. The following day, I attempted to reach Eva Air but faced numerous obstacles and was transferred multiple times by the booking agency, eventually getting a VIP customer service number. Despite my efforts over two days, I couldn’t reach anyone. I am seeking a $100 refund for the seats I paid for but didn’t receive. Their customer service is severely lacking. It raises the question of whether they changed the plane, as it seemed full and somehow issued duplicate seat numbers.
This tour was very impressive, featuring a fantastic German-speaking guide. We enjoyed stunning landscapes and encountered amazing wildlife, including llamas, alpacas, deer, vicuñas, a fox, and even flamingos in the distance.
It’s a great spot, but be sure to go prepared. Have a light dinner before the trip and a light breakfast in Zapahuira.
