I received a hot air balloon ride as a birthday gift, and it was an amazing experience. I usually struggle with heights and get motion sickness, but I felt perfectly fine in the air, thanks to the stunning views. The weather was beautiful, and our pilot was knowledgeable and expertly managed the balloon. The only downside was that the landing was a bit rough; I wish I had positioned my feet better and leaned back a bit more, as it happened quickly, and I would have liked more time aloft. I highly recommend the Rainbow Ryders hot air balloon rides.
The pickup was conveniently close to our accommodation. Luis and his son were friendly and incredibly knowledgeable, sharing stories that exceeded our expectations. Choose no one else. Our pilot, Gery Cooper, with his 40 years of experience, provided a comforting experience, landing smoothly in a circle with minimal bounce. We enjoyed local mimosas and champagne, making it a five-star experience overall. Coming from Rhode Island, this was on our bucket list, and it did not disappoint. The flight was serene and spiritual, especially watching the sunrise. For the best experience, go in the morning. We did this in May 2025 and loved every moment. Billy and Anne.
I had an incredible time flying with Rainbow Ryders. The crew, including pilot Greg, Bobby, and Nick, was fantastic and highly professional. When my initial flight got canceled because of rain, the office staff were excellent in helping me reschedule for another date that fit my schedule while I was in New Mexico. Thank you!
The flights might be excellent, but booking them through the website is extremely frustrating due to serious navigation issues, especially on mobile. After struggling for an hour, I called customer service, which was even more disappointing. Instead of offering assistance, the representative insisted that the website had no problems, leaving me to hang up and seek alternative plans for my wife and my anniversary.
We really loved the ride with Captain Morgan, who was extremely knowledgeable. Our only wait was until launch time, but that was expected as it was the day before the balloon festival, and there were many people riding. Everyone was really nice.

This is a must-do experience when in Albuquerque, especially if you can't attend the International Balloon Festival in October. The crew was knowledgeable and entertaining, and the champagne toast at the end was a nice touch. I just wished the flight could have lasted longer. It was an incredible time.
This experience was incredible! If I could choose any superpower, it would be the ability to fly like a bird, and this experience comes remarkably close. Our pilot, Troy, is a fourth-generation balloonist who has crossed both the Atlantic and Pacific in a hot air balloon, so we were truly in expert hands. He is not only friendly but also very knowledgeable.
