During the tour we will have the possibility of finding local fauna, such as different birds, coati, deer and arthropods. Once you arrive at the cave, we will have a space to rest and eat lunch. Before entering you will be provided with a headlamp and helmet to explore safely. We will be in the cave approximately 40 minutes, discovering the beauty and magic of this geological formation. To conclude the tour, we will walk to Playa La Majahua, a hidden gem between Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo. During the hike, you will pass by viewpoints overlooking the ocean.
2EXPLORE THE UNKNOWN This tour begins with the transfer from your accommodation to the Laguna de Potosí, a place of calm waters known for its great diversity of birds, located 20 km south of Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo. At Potosi Lagoon, you will have the opportunity to explore one of the most beautiful bird sanctuaries in the region. This will be done by kayaking through the mangroves, a vital ecosystem for numerous birds and fish. After finishing the kayak, you will enjoy a delicious breakfast on the picturesque cliffs on the shores of the lagoon. The next stop will be El Refugio de Potosí, a place where nature and education meet. Here you will have the opportunity to interact and learn about different species in the area, such as green macaws, river otters and tree porcupines. After the visit to the Potosi Refuge, we will return to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, where transport will take you back to your accommodation.
3Discover the diversity of birds in Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo! The tour starts at the entrance of Vicente Guerrero National Park. For our next stop, we will take a 20-minute hike through the National Park, reaching the shore of a lagoon, where you can find lake birds: ducks, jacanas, doves and gulls, being the most common. Then we will head to the mouth of the Ixtapa River. Here, there is a great diversity of seabirds, lagoons and jungles, such as pelicans, terns, cormorants, herons, chips and woodpeckers. For our last stop, we will head to the crocodile of Playa Linda. Crocodiles and nesting birds, such as night herons, storks and spatulas, can be closely observed here.
