Four days and three nights at top-rated accommodations, with guided city tours and cozy Aurora Lodge access for optimal Northern Lights viewing.
This four-day, three-night package in Yellowknife includes a stay at either the luxurious Explorer Hotel or the Chateau Nova. The tour kicks off with a 24-hour airport pickup and a guided city tour, covering key attractions like the Pilots Monument and the Visitor Centre, where each visitor receives a certificate and a small souvenir knife.
During winter months, the itinerary features the Ice Road, and if you visit in March, there's the added spectacle of the Ice Castle. You'll enjoy the comforts of the Aurora Lodge, designed for warm viewing of the Northern Lights away from the cold, and you'll have the opportunity to capture these moments with complimentary Aurora photos sent via a drive link. The tour is conducted in Mandarin with English accommodations for those who are comfortable with some flexibility.
Reviews
Our experience was truly exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Everything was well-organized, and the service was excellent, with the schedule consistently managed. Our guide, Peny, was both friendly and very professional.
This tour provided me with unforgettable memories. We were fortunate to see the aurora borealis on three nights, though one night was a bit cloudy. The Wildlife Preserve and Takhini Hot Springs were highlights, and we were thrilled to witness the aurora on our final evening. The guides were patient and helpful, making it easy to follow along despite our limited English, and everyone was supportive when I accidentally dropped my phone. The optional trek to Cameron Falls was enjoyable; the guides offered valuable insights, stunning views, and took plenty of photos, so I encourage everyone to consider this add-on. Our accommodations at Chateau Nova were great, with a comfortable suite featuring a kitchen and a spacious sofa. Just keep in mind that no cleaning is done for longer stays, although you can request towels at the front desk. The hotel staff were friendly. Overall, the experience was truly fulfilling. Many thanks to everyone involved in the tour. If you're considering it, I highly recommend joining this adventure.
The tour group was fantastic. Penny was an outstanding guide, and the photos she captured of the aurora will perfectly supplement our memories. We were fortunate to see the aurora on all three nights.
The service provided was excellent and punctual. The team searched various locations for optimal views of the auroras. The guides were attentive and supportive. I stayed at the Chateau Nova hotel, which was comfortable, quiet, and centrally located, with spacious rooms. If you can coordinate timings, you have a better chance of seeing the auroras. They also provide clothing from Nieves, which was exactly what I expected.
I highly recommend this fantastic tour. Our guide, Evon, was attentive and friendly, ensuring that every guest felt cared for. The hotel exceeded my expectations, being new and comfortable; however, the restaurant food quality could use some improvement. I would gladly take this tour again if I had the chance.
The staff were all incredibly enthusiastic and professional, eager to assist every customer with any issues. Our first night showcased the breathtaking lights, making for an unforgettable experience and a delightful holiday.
I conducted extensive research before planning my trip to Yellowknife for the Northern Lights, and Aurora Viewing Village impressed me the most. From their customer service to hotel rates and seasonal information, everything was clearly laid out on their website. I wholeheartedly recommend Aurora Village; you won't regret it.
The organization of the 4D3N tour was excellent. The guides were both professional and friendly, assisting guests in capturing great photos. The vehicles were clean and comfortable. This experience offers great value and comes highly recommended.
The tour operator primarily caters to Chinese tourists, which was not mentioned beforehand. The operator's name is only available in Chinese characters, complicating our airport pickup. The tour guides primarily speak Mandarin, making it difficult to follow the explanations. We encountered another couple from Texas who faced the same communication issues. I suspect there is little coordination between the operating company and Viator, as the guide requested to see the English itinerary provided by Viator. Overall, Viator seems inadequate in coordinating with local operators for tourists who do not speak Mandarin. The claim that the tour is conducted in English is misleading.
I specifically avoided booking a Chinese tour, yet the day before my trip to Yellowknife, the company informed me I was in one. They made no effort to switch me to an English tour. One guide, Lia, attempted to communicate in both English and Chinese, while Theresa struggled with translations from Mandarin to English. I felt I overpaid for this experience. I cannot recommend this tour company if you prefer an English-speaking guide, as they failed to rectify their mistake.
