I wasn't familiar with Winston Salem prior to this trip, but Annie did an excellent job of revealing the city's fascinating aspects. I was surprised to see factories located so far South. The downtown area was vibrant and charming. Annie's extensive knowledge of the city was impressive.
I was amazed by how fascinating Winston-Salem truly is. Having grown up there, I only knew a bit about its history related to tobacco, but this tour opened my eyes to much more about my hometown. Annee was an excellent guide, incredibly knowledgeable about the city.
The walking tour in Winston-Salem was very informative. I gained a considerable understanding of the city's history and the various industries that have influenced its development.
This experience provided an excellent opportunity to understand the city better and delve into its history with a very knowledgeable local. Ann was full of energy and passion; I highly recommend her.
I booked a one-hour “historical walking tour” with Triangle Tours in Winston-Salem. As someone experienced with similar tours, I expected an engaging exploration of the city's history. Unfortunately, our guide seemed unprepared and lacked depth in her commentary on well-known sites. For instance, she referred to the renovation of the R.J. Reynolds tobacco plant as “infrastructure innovation,” which felt superficial. I often found more interesting information through quick searches on Perplexity and ChatGPT than what she provided. It seemed like she had a script but wasn't familiar with it or was hesitant to use it. When questions arose, she would share personal anecdotes instead of historical insights. Midway through the tour, she repeatedly asked us what we wanted to see, even though we were hoping she would guide us through the experience. To make matters worse, the tour ended ten minutes early with just three participants. I recommend Triangle Tours develop a basic framework of architectural highlights, historical transformations, and current events from reliable sources for better guide training. I can't recommend this tour to visitors, including my friends from our hometown.
