Our experience on the Tundra to see the bears and subarctic wildlife was remarkable. Duane, our guide, demonstrated extensive knowledge and professionalism along with captivating stories. Everything was well-organized and executed seamlessly. Our buggy driver, Jim, had a fantastic sense of humor and was a fascinating individual. Their profound respect and love for the bears and surrounding wildlife were truly inspiring. We encountered numerous bears, witnessing them sparring, displaying their adorable behaviors, and walking on ice. Additionally, we spotted foxes, a charming Arctic hare, and various birds. One area for improvement would be for pre-trip communications to be more responsive, as I had to reach out for some details that could have been shared proactively. Overall, I had a fantastic time and will always cherish this trip.
Frontiers North provided an unforgettable Tundra Buggy experience, thanks to our guide Jaamie. Driving a specially modified school bus on massive tires, he helped us spot Polar Bears, Snow Hares, Ptarmigan, and Red Foxes. We were fortunate to see five bears, including a mother with one cub and another mother with two cubs, perfect for incredible photos. The tour also included a fantastic lunch featuring soup and a variety of sandwich options, along with coffee, hot tea, or hot cocoa and a cookie. An amazing experience with excellent organization in a remote location. The tour guides, buggy drivers, and office staff were all exceptional. This is definitely the best choice for seeing polar bears in Churchill.
The Churchill Polar Bear expedition with Frontiers North Adventure is a must-do. This company offers a unique one-day trip from Winnipeg to witness polar bears in Churchill's Tundra. One day was perfect for us, as we saw around 7-8 bears up close. The group was small, with about 30 participants, and the representatives, Anna and Sophia, were friendly and communicative. The tour usually lasts 6-7 hours, but our flight was delayed due to poor weather, reducing our time on the Tundra. Lunch was enjoyable, featuring butternut squash soup and a falafel wrap for this vegetarian. However, our buggy driver and tour guide could have provided more educational insights about the polar bears. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend this company.
