Captain Cam was fantastic—extremely knowledgeable, approachable, and enjoyable to be with. We had an incredible time.
Make sure to bring your own drinks; you can use a small cooler for whatever you like. Parking can be tricky—avoid the boat trailer lot. There’s a smaller lot by the boat launch that charges around $5 per hour from 7 am to 7 pm. The captain mentioned a bathroom on the raft, but I couldn't find it. The raft has standard plastic lawn chairs, which are fine for the 90-minute trip. Be prepared for the wind affecting hair, and note that it gets cooler when the sun sets.
We took the Sunset tour, but the weather was cloudy, which meant we missed out on a stunning sunset, and we didn't spot any dolphins either. However, the tour operators were knowledgeable about the region and made the experience enjoyable. The beautiful homes and mansions along the waterways are a highlight. If I return to this area, I would definitely give it another try.
My mother, her husband, and their teenage child from Statesville, NC, along with my youngest son, grandson, and me from Elmira, NY, took a short trip. Although it was early April and a bit chilly, my grandson loved swimming. Many attractions were closed for the season, but we appreciated the walks on the beach.
This was our third sunset boat tour this week on the Carolina coast, and unfortunately, it was the most disappointing. Despite prior communication confirming a timely arrival, the boat was late. Once aboard, we were seated on flimsy plastic chairs. The “sunset tour” took us along the west side of the point, showing us only houses and boats—hardly what I expected from such a beautiful setting. Adding to the discomfort, a family at the rear allowed their young son to disturb us with loud and continuous sounds while standing next to us. Although I understand kids' excitement, the captain could have asked him to return to his seat. His noise and the blaring music drowned out the guide's commentary, which mainly focused on the cost of homes and boats, along with some restaurant membership issues. This experience was a total waste of time and money, and we were just waiting for it to be over.
It was an excellent experience. The captain provided just the right amount of information about the inland waterway, and we enjoyed our own cocktails while listening to music. The sunset was stunning, and we took many photos. I highly recommend it.
The trip was incredibly enjoyable, and Cam was fantastic! He shared plenty of interesting information and amusing puns, making it a delight to learn about the waterways. The scenery was absolutely stunning and worth every cent.
My sisters and I had a great time. The crew was not only informative but also amusing. Thank you for the wonderful experience.
The people were wonderful, and the experience was fantastic, resulting in lasting memories.
What a fantastic experience! Captain Cam and his first mate offered great insights about the area. We enjoyed plenty of dolphin sightings and witnessed a stunning sunset.
