Four-kilometre self-guided hike on the Lower Canyon City Trail featuring GPS-based audio commentary on local nature and history.
This 4-kilometre self-guided hike along the Lower Canyon City Trail leads you through the scenic Miles Canyon in Whitehorse. The audio tour, accessed via your smartphone, provides commentary on the Yukon's natural features, including the Yukon River, local flora and fauna, and the historical significance of Canyon City during the Gold Rush era.
As you walk, listen to stories about Grey Mountain and notable Yukoners, and enhance your visit with a location-based trivia game that prompts you to interact with your surroundings. The GPS map guides you through the trail, automatically playing commentary as you approach key points of interest.
Note that portions of the trail are moderately steep and may not be suitable for everyone. Checking trail conditions is advisable before heading out, as the trail is closed from October to May.

Reviews
Having never done a tour like this before, I appreciated the self-paced nature and the ability to replay interesting segments. I did miss the opportunity to ask questions about specific topics that intrigued me. Nonetheless, for the affordable price, it was definitely a worthwhile experience.
