With just one day remaining in Whitehorse, I wanted to make the most of the beautiful weather. Arctic Range Adventures responded quickly to my inquiry and included me in a small-group hike at Miles Canyon. They picked me up from my hotel, ensured I was properly dressed, and created an enjoyable atmosphere for the entire afternoon. Sofia, our guide, was both knowledgeable and passionate, making certain we all experienced the stunning canyon views while having a fun and informative time.
The tour was fantastic and the scenery at Miles Canyon is absolutely stunning. The duration of just over three hours felt just right. Our guides were friendly and very knowledgeable. However, it's worth mentioning that although it was described as easy and flat, there were some elevation changes and a bit of scrambling. We are in our 60s and managed fine, but I did wish I had taken the offered walking sticks, settling instead for a loose branch for the final mile. There were plenty of chances for great photos.
This was an excellent experience with breathtaking views of the canyon, striking turquoise waters, and a blooming boreal forest. Our guides, Mariko and Ricardo, were exceptional—knowledgeable and truly passionate about their work. They showed us all the beautiful spots along the river and took great care of us. Mariko's expertise in local flora and fauna was impressive, and I learned a lot from her. I highly recommend this trip.
