Reviews
John Bybee was our guide for a private and comfortable tour of Yellowstone. My husband, who has limited mobility, found that John perfectly accommodated our needs. We were thrilled to see everything we wanted, including a moose, and we appreciated John's extensive knowledge, answering all our questions in detail, often providing names and even middle initials of significant figures like explorers and Presidents. His expertise in botany, history, and geology is remarkable. John was personable, polite, and patient—an ideal guide. We had three tours with him, two in Yellowstone and one in Grand Teton, and after the first day, we looked forward to each subsequent tour. I’ll also review our wildlife tour with Bryan separately; it was equally great but offered a different skill set.
Our guide, Brian Barton, was excellent. His deep knowledge of the park and the sights we explored enhanced our experience. Thanks to his understanding of wildlife, we captured incredible footage of a black bear. He also timed our visit to Old Faithful perfectly, making the tour truly enjoyable.
Our recent Yellowstone tours with Tied to Nature were unforgettable. We spent a day exploring the lower loop, visiting Old Faithful and the stunning Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, where we enjoyed exceptional views of the waterfalls. The new spacious van comfortably accommodated everyone from age 8 to 68, and our guide, John Bybee, was both knowledgeable and skilled at navigating crowds. Instead of dictating our itinerary, he engaged us by asking our preferences for stops. Tied to Nature truly provided a more personalized experience. John arrived early for our first pickup, ensuring we wasted no time, and we enjoyed secluded lunches at picturesque picnic spots that made us feel exclusive in the park. Not long into our adventure, he spotted a bald eagle soaring low over the river, a breathtaking moment for any birdwatcher. We watched several black bears munching on wildflowers from the safety of our van, reacting to the sight with excitement reminiscent of a theme park ride. On day two, with a new geyser formation emerging in Biscuit Basin, we navigated the upper loop. We spotted numerous animals from the van, including vast buffalo herds, and John provided us with amazing views of an osprey feeding its young and the dramatic scene of wolves chasing bison through his high-quality spotting scope. He later shared videos from these encounters, adding to our collection of 300+ pictures and videos. Our time was enriched with sightings of barn swallows nesting in a historic barn, a rare sandhill crane, and a friendly yellow-striped marmot. Various wildlife like elk, mule deer, a black wolf with two pups, and even a badger crossed our path, making it a thrill. Eight-year-old Stella surprised me by sharing that while she seemed to be resting in the van, she was actually absorbing John's calming narratives about the wildlife and park history. His use of the Zeiss spotting scope allowed for clear views of animals over a mile away; curious visitors were drawn to him, captivated by his quiet, informative approach amid louder guides. When a family asked John for directions to Gibbon Falls, I felt proud that they approached him; I was happy to see them successfully find their way later. We planned this tour over a year ago and watched podcasts and documentaries that deepened our understanding of the significance of this land to the Shoshone, Blackfoot, and Sioux tribes. Thanks to our friend and photographer Seth Brandes for recommending Tied to Nature, we won’t forget our remarkable days in this beautiful expanse known as America’s Serengeti.
Our day with Jarod from Tied To Nature was unforgettable. As our exceptional guide, he handled everything, taking us into the park before it got busy. We were able to enjoy the sights without worrying about directions or driving, as he expertly handled traffic and parking. With his high-powered scope, we spotted wildlife at a distance, including waterfalls, grizzly bears, wolf dens, buffalo, and Old Faithful. He also took fantastic photos throughout the day, which he sent to us later. The van was stocked with drinks and snacks, and we enjoyed a lovely lunch at Old Faithful Inn, which was a stunning location. Jarod shared fascinating insights about Yellowstone, making the journey as educational as it was enjoyable. He even assisted us in planning our next two days in the park, making our experience even smoother. Though our tour lasted eight hours, it felt too short. We highly recommend a private tour with Tied To Nature and can’t speak highly enough of Jarod for providing us with an incredible day.
Our experience with Scott was outstanding. Our family gained extensive knowledge about the park's history, its wildlife, and the scientific aspects of its natural features. We highly recommend this tour.
I had an excellent experience! Brian, our guide, was fantastic—relaxed and very knowledgeable. We encountered so many amazing sights. I highly recommend this tour.
My sister and I were thrilled with our tour with Tied to Nature, thanks to a friend's recommendation. Our guide, Jared, was incredibly knowledgeable and took us to all the key spots we wanted to see. I realized we wouldn't have found many of these places on our own, especially since I'm usually driving and miss so much. Having a driver allowed me to fully appreciate the park’s beauty. The photos we took were incredible, making this a truly memorable experience. Thanks, Jared and Tied to Nature. I will recommend you to everyone planning a similar trip. The sandwiches and snacks were also a nice bonus.
Our tour with Jarrod was exceptional; he was not only an outstanding guide but also a really nice person who blended seamlessly with our group. His knowledge was impressive, and he took us to the best spots during our one-day trip. We saw plenty of wildlife and enjoyed a fantastic day at Yellowstone. I highly recommend Tied to Nature.
We have enthusiastically shared our fantastic experience on this tour with friends, highlighting our guide, John. It was a private excursion for 14 people, spanning ages 4 to 72. Starting at 6 AM was a great decision; it allowed us to view a variety of wildlife, including moose, coyotes, elk, and pronghorns, which John expertly pointed out. He took us to the best locations and showcased fascinating topographical features. We arrived at Old Faithful right on time, where he had prepared lunch for us under the shade of the Old Faithful Inn Deck. The younger kids had constant questions, and our pregnant daughter needed some extra care. John was incredibly patient and adaptable. We all cherished that day and will carry the memories with us for years.
Our second tour with Tied to Nature in Yellowstone was incredibly valuable. John B. served as an exceptional guide, sharing extensive knowledge as he brought us to key sites like waterfalls and geothermal areas, explaining their history and science. No question stumped him, and he communicated clearly so everyone in our van, including our three kids, could follow along. We had an excellent day of exploration and felt the experience was well worth the expense for maximizing our time in Yellowstone.
