The pickup and drop-off were on time, and our guide was polite and friendly. We enjoyed the sites we visited and appreciated the single water bottle provided. Lunch was excellent and tailored to accommodate food allergies. However, we rated it lower because the guide's English clarity was lacking; there were times when we struggled to communicate our questions. We also wished we could have spent more time at some stops.
We were met promptly by the driver and guide at the exit gate, which was a great start. Our guide, Mr. Nam, was knowledgeable and energetic, providing assistance throughout the tour. We enjoyed every aspect of it and are very grateful. I highly recommend this experience.
The city was quite chaotic. Having a private tour guide was beneficial, but unfortunately, our guide struggled with English, making it difficult for us to ask questions or grasp the details. The 'luxury' transportation did not meet expectations; while it may have been nice in the past, it felt worn-out and the seat belts were non-functional, which is concerning given the local driving style. The driver was preoccupied with two mobile phones, one for videos and the other for calls and texts. While this experience offered better value than cruise tours, it still felt like there was room for significant improvement.
The tour had its limitations due to the ship's arrival and departure schedule. I began the trip by asking the guide about the return time and was advised to be back by 3 pm. Throughout the day, I reminded the guide of this timing. The drive from the ship to Ho Chi Minh City took about 90 minutes, and we spent around 30 minutes trying to track down our driver at one location. Ultimately, the guide informed me that the return journey would only take 30-40 minutes because it was the weekend. However, the guide left us in the city, leaving the driver to handle our return. The ride back took 87 minutes, making us over an hour late. We made it back to the ship, but I was quite dissatisfied with the experience.
My first visit to Vietnam was truly wonderful, thanks to our guide and driver. We explored many amazing locations, and our guide assisted us with the currency. This tour is definitely worth booking.
The guide was a nice person, but lacked knowledge about the tour. I was quite disappointed and believe that better vetting of guides is needed.
Our tour guide was fantastic, adding a lot of enjoyment to the day. They were very knowledgeable and took us to see everything and more in Saigon. We even had the best coffee we've ever tasted.
We had a wonderful day in Ho Chi Minh, largely thanks to our guide Peter, who was outstanding. His English was impeccable and he provided extensive knowledge, answering all our questions. He brought joy to the experience. Though our driver Nicolas's English wasn't as strong, he was very friendly and helpful. The day was filled with activities, including visits to the War Remnants Museum, Independence Palace, the Post Office, a lovely lunch, Chinatown, and the Thien Tau Temple. Peter shared fascinating insights about the temple, which I found surprising since temples usually don't interest me. Overall, it was an exceptional day and one of the highlights of our cruise excursion, thanks to Peter and Nicolas.
This full-day tour offers a deep dive into the captivating beauty and rich history of Ho Chi Minh City, led by an exceptional guide.
The tour of Ho Chi Minh City was fantastic, with both a great driver and an excellent guide. Shane, our English-speaking guide, was highly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the locations we explored, making the entire experience very enjoyable. It truly deserves a 5-star rating.
