The experience was truly exceptional. Visiting a cocoa farm provided insights that can't be found in Japan. It's clear that cultivating cocoa involves significant effort, and hearing about the journey to quality chocolate was enlightening. At the farm, we picked, opened, and tasted the fresh cocoa fruit, which was delightfully tangy. I learned that during certain times, fresh cacao smoothies are available, and I can't wait to return to try one. After touring the factory, we enjoyed delicious coffee and cocoa at a café by the water, creating a peaceful atmosphere. The included barbecue lunch was a highlight, allowing for a leisurely dining experience. BINON's cocoa drinks were fantastic, and we indulged in chocolate samples before purchasing several bars, which were both tasty and reasonably priced. I plan to take some granola home to savor later. Additionally, the option for a car pick-up from Ho Chi Minh City was very convenient. I highly recommend this activity; it's an unforgettable experience unlike anything in Japan.
The pickup was handled in Japanese, and we were greeted in the hotel lobby with a message beforehand. The sedan was nice and the driver was courteous. The main language spoken was Vietnamese. Both my Japanese sister and my English sister joined to pick me up. The welcome drink was a refreshing cocoa tea made with 80% cocoa nib and 20% nib epidermis, leaving a pleasant cocoa aroma. The explanation of chocolate production was provided in Vietnamese-accented English, and my friendly driver was eager to assist. The park was dry in February, but the weather was pleasant. We harvested two cocoa varieties, cracked them open, and tasted the pulp. We took turns exploring the facility for drying and roasting and enjoyed lunch afterward. There were some communication issues during the Chinese New Year (Tet) due to a mistake on TripAdvisor, but my two older sisters were sincere and maintained their smiles throughout. I appreciated that they never pressured me to buy souvenirs, allowing me to choose only what I genuinely wanted. For our return, we took a taxi, then a mixed-use bus, and another taxi, and they kindly called to ensure we reached the hotel safely, showing their attentiveness.
This cocoa farm is exceptional! The staff is friendly and highly knowledgeable, answering all queries with enthusiasm. The products, from fresh cocoa to finished chocolate, are delicious. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to everyone.
This farm is the perfect destination for families. The scenery is lovely, the staff is friendly, and the hot chocolate is delicious and easy to drink, making it ideal for summer days.
The staff were able to speak Japanese and provided courteous explanations, which helped me learn a lot. It was a really nice experience. I look forward to returning when my children are older.
Since Binon Cacao Park is usually closed on Mondays, our family tour group, following the ITE HCMC 2025 event, only had a half-day experience, but it was remarkable. As a dedicated chocolate lover, part-time baker, and former chocolatier, I highly recommend this to fellow chocoholics worldwide. It thoroughly walks you through the journey from farm to tempering table. I particularly enjoyed seeing the cacao trees, which were in season during our visit, and had the chance to cut a pod off the tree during the demonstration. Tasting fresh cacao pulp was incredibly refreshing in the humidity of southern Vietnam. The chocolate-making part allows you to create your own treats, and I chose to work with a mendiant kit and 65% chocolate. Don't miss out on taking some of the delicious flavors home from the gift shop; it’s worth it.
Our farm tour, along with the product sampling and chocolate making, was delightful. It was a warm and engaging experience, plus the treats were delicious. I highly recommend this for families with children.
I really enjoyed the experience of making chocolate from cocoa beans, touring farms and factories, and having lunch. I even tried fresh cacao fruit right from the tree, though it was somewhat sweet and sour. It was a fascinating experience that I had never encountered before.
Harvesting cocoa beans was fantastic, and the chocolate-making process was equally delightful. The chocolate I created turned out to be the perfect souvenir.
Ms. Hien guided us through the cacao plantation, providing a detailed explanation of the cacao harvesting process and how it transforms into chocolate. We sampled various binon chocolates, and the BBQ lunch was excellent. We really enjoyed our visit.
