Six hours in a premium vehicle with a black tie driver-guide — explore Victoria's highlights and enjoy a self-guided tour of Butchart Gardens.
This six-hour tour begins in Victoria's scenic Inner Harbour, where you’ll board a premium vehicle with a black tie driver-guide. The journey will take you through the charming Beacon Hill Park, home to beautiful foliage and peacocks, before arriving at Butchart Gardens. This National Historic Site spans 55 acres and offers a two-hour self-guided tour through its various themed gardens, including the Rose Garden and Japanese Garden.
On the return, you'll pass through historic areas such as Old Town and Chinatown, the second oldest in North America. The tour ends back at the Inner Harbour, conveniently located near the Empress Hotel and the British Columbia Legislative Buildings.
Reviews
While the tour claims to be wheelchair accessible, it fails to clarify that users must be able to transfer from their wheelchair and navigate stairs to access the vehicle. I indicated on the purchase that one person would be in a wheelchair, but the site staff was unaware of this upon our arrival. Fortunately, it was manageable for us, but I can see how this could cause issues. Michael, our driver, was well-informed about the area. With only eight adults in the van, we had ample space. We spent two hours at the gardens, and despite needing to push a wheelchair, we managed to explore the entire area and still had time to grab gelato afterwards.
The transport was easy to access at the specified location. The driver was very pleasant and welcoming.
I likely missed out on a wonderful experience due to my error with the timing, and I never received a response after emailing them. It’s wiser to purchase tickets directly from Butchart Gardens, as they are valid for an unlimited period.
There was plenty of walking, but the scenery was stunning. Be cautious as there are many bees around, especially if you have allergies.
The gardens are stunning, and the tour of Victoria added great value. Our driver, Karen, did an excellent job guiding us through the town.
The gardens are stunning. However, we departed 25 minutes later than scheduled because the driver waited for a group of four who were late. There should be a time limit for how long tours wait for latecomers.
Michael was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and extremely accommodating. I would definitely recommend this tour.
The experience was both relaxing and informative, with the right amount of time spent on the tour. The gardens were beautiful and not at all crowded. There were numerous dinner suggestions, and the guide had extensive knowledge about Victoria's history. She was excellent, though I can't recall her name.
Michael was an excellent tour guide, providing a wealth of information about the community before we headed to Butchart Gardens. The only downside was a delay caused by two late arrivals, which put us behind by around 12 minutes.
Butchart Gardens is stunning. Plan to spend roughly 1.5 hours exploring it. The ice cream appears delicious, though it is on the pricey side.
