After disembarking from the cruise ship, we strayed from the main road upon a pedicab driver's advice, sending us toward empty buses. Eventually, we were directed back, but missed the hop-on by one minute. We had to wait 50 minutes for the next bus and then learned we had a 25-minute walk to get our tickets, which was quite confusing. However, we appreciated the professionally delivered commentary. At the Empress Hotel, we redeemed our voucher and waited 30 minutes for the tour to resume. We disembarked at Fishermen's Wharf for a late lunch before heading back to the bus stop. If we had known it was only a 10-minute walk to the cruise ship dock, it would have made things easier.
A great way to explore Victoria. The bus moves at a leisurely pace, allowing ample time to enjoy the sights, supplemented by informative narration. Arriving on a cruise ship, we were initially unsure of where to board the bus due to misleading information indicating the stop was near the interactive sundial. In reality, the correct stop is right in front of the terminal at Stop No 7. Better signage could help cruise ship passengers find this location more easily. I also saw several others who thought they needed to travel into town to catch the bus from Stop No 1, while it's more efficient to board at the cruise terminal.
Our day was enjoyable. We spent nearly two hours exploring the castle and stopped at Bay Maria for lunch at a quaint cafe. Although we weren't keen on the other stops, we appreciated the opportunity to tour the city this way.
Our initial placement on a hybrid tour took us by surprise. After spending an hour driving around, we finally got transferred to a standard hop-on hop-off bus. Unfortunately, we lost so much time that we couldn't visit all the stops we had intended to see.
Seeing the city this way was fantastic. Our guide was informative, knowledgeable, and very helpful. I would certainly recommend this tour.
The ticket kiosks are just small red box stands on the sidewalks. It would be beneficial to have a small red flag displaying your logo to improve visibility from a distance.
This tour was priced at half the cost of the cruise ship experience. For those familiar with travel, it's possible to discover great deals that prioritize safety. This option was clean, well-organized, and the itinerary presented was a pleasure.
Avoid scheduling this tour for Saturday evenings. The Star Princess docks that night, and the tour should not have taken reservations. We disembarked to find no one waiting for us and had to book an alternative tour. I requested a refund immediately, and the company was very helpful in processing it. The city is stunning, so make sure to enjoy your excursions.
This sightseeing excursion to Victoria was enjoyable. Our driver, Brian, shared extensive knowledge about the city and its highlights. I also had the best halibut sandwich at Fisherman's Wharf.
The tour was quite fascinating and included all the key attractions. Some buses had protective covers that shielded us from the wind, but others did not. My only complaint would be the absence of bus signs indicating the stops. Aside from that, I would recommend this tour.
