Six miles of downhill cycling from Vail Pass to Frisco, with lunch options and return transport included.
This bike tour features a scenic six-mile descent from Vail Pass to the charming town of Frisco, following a paved trail that winds through Tenmile Canyon. You’ll have the option to pre-arrange lunch at one of Frisco’s many restaurants on Main Street or explore your own choices.
After lunch, you can either take a ride back to Vail or, if you're feeling energetic, opt for a return drop-off at the top of Vail Pass to cycle back in the opposite direction. The relaxed pace and picturesque surroundings make this an enjoyable day of riding.

This is a convenient and enjoyable way to experience and explore Vail Pass. The shop is conveniently located in Lionshead. After a quick 5 minutes for paperwork and helmet fitting, the friendly staff transports you via van to the start of Vail Pass, about 25 minutes away. From there, you can embark on a mostly downhill bike ride at your own pace, taking in the stunning views of the Colorado Rockies along a car-free paved path. I recommend booking the early time slot so you can keep the bikes until the shop closes at 5 PM. This is a must-do during the summer in Vail.
Renting mountain bikes from BikeValet was an excellent experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and supportive throughout. I would rate it a solid 5 stars.
Renting the bikes and getting a ride to the mountain top was very simple. The descent offered breathtaking views.
The ride through the pass was fantastic. There are only a few sections where you need to pedal, and the scenery is stunning. The drive along Highway 70 to the drop-off point is pleasant. You have the flexibility to take your time returning to the shop, which was great. We made stops along the way, explored some side roads in subdivisions, and even grabbed smoothies before returning the bikes. My only concern was the lack of information when booking online, such as what time to arrive at the shop. We also thought we would be descending from the mountain instead of the pass. I appreciate having clear details. Overall, it’s definitely worth the money, and I highly recommend it.
Our bike tour was fantastic, and we loved having lunch at the clubhouse. Most of the ride was downhill, which made it very enjoyable and offered beautiful scenic views.
The downhill ride offered stunning views. I appreciated the feeling of youth and freedom it brought me. It was an excellent experience, especially with reliable brakes. I highly recommend it to others.
It was quite straightforward to follow the route, although some challenging climbs were present due to road construction. We ended up walking our bikes up two steep sections.
This experience was the high point of our visit to Vail. The views were stunning, and the entire route being a car-free cement path added to the thrill while ensuring safety. The staff were also friendly and knowledgeable.
The bike ride from Vail Pass to Frisco on September 30 was stunning, with beautiful aspen trees and amazing views. Allie and Tom provided bikes at Vail Lion Head and transported us to the top of Vail Pass. Allie picked us up in Frisco after about three hours. They were accommodating with our departure time since we were the only participants that day. The bikes performed well, but the seats were quite uncomfortable, leaving us with sore rear ends despite using gel pad covers.
