1Step into the fascinating underground world of Cave Okinawa, locally known as Nuchishinujigama, a limestone cave filled with natural beauty, history, and spiritual significance. This remarkable cave is considered one of Okinawa’s famous “power spots,” believed to bring good fortune and positive energy. Its name carries deep historical meaning, rooted in two remarkable events where lives were miraculously saved. During the Battle of Okinawa, nearly 300 residents sought refuge inside the cave and survived without a single casualty. Earlier, during the Ryukyu Kingdom era, a prince from Nakijin Castle reportedly found safety here after a battle. Inside the cave, visitors can admire a variety of unique limestone formations, including the rare Red and White Stalactite, considered an auspicious symbol after two children were born nearby during wartime.
2Along the 200-meter-long exciting route, you can see numerous stalactites formed over tens of thousands of years! The fantastical illuminated space is a must-see! The lighting and pathways have been renewed, so everyone from children to adults can enjoy the feeling of cave exploration! Come experience the "mystery of nature" and the "extraordinary world that can only be experienced here"! ★It's close to Ishikawa Interchange, so it's easy to access even in between sightseeing in Okinawa! *The journey takes about 30 minutes, and is OK even on rainy days!
